Calcium carbide made from coke and calcium oxide at high temperature,which is an important coal chemical product and basic chemical raw material,that reacted with water to produce acetylene that known as the "mother of organic synthesis".At present,the preparation method of calcium carbide by electro-thermal in industry has the problem of high energy-consumption,low efficiency and low capacity.Calcium carbide is prepared with powdery coke and calcium oxide by oxygen heat method in rotary kiln that as a thermal equipment.The balance calculation and the change of temperature in rotary kiln are studied to ensure the operating parameters of rotary kiln.The main conclusions are as follows:1.Calcium oxide 980.5 kg,coal powder 1747 kg,oxygen 1824 kg is needed to product 1 tons of calcium carbide.The purity of the calcium carbide product is about 64%.2.In the process of coal combustion,it is assumed that all about carbon reacted to produce carbon monoxide or carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide are generated according to the proportion of 7:3,1:1 and 3:7 that all conditions can not meet the production requirements3.In the process of coal combustion,it is assumed that carbon completely reacted to produce carbon dioxide.The filling rate is 8%,the heat transfer coefficient is 455 W/K,the productivity is 20 t/h,and the coal powder is 7.165 t/h,the heat transfer coefficient of the heat exchanger is 200 W/(m2.K),and the effective heat transfer area is 20.35 m2,the surface heat dissipation is 1%,which meets the production requirement and the condition is optimal at this time.4.The optimal operation parameters of rotary kiln are speed 0.5 rad/min,installation slope 2%and rest angle 45° on the conditions of 3.The results of the study are of great reference value for the development of calcium carbide technology in rotary kiln.The application of the research results will create good economic and social benefits.
