Hydroxyl acrylate resin has excellent properties such as high gloss,good adhesion,good chemical resistance and good weatherability.The synthesis of hydroxyl acrylate resin has attracted wide attention and application,especially in the field of plastic coatings.It has an important environmental value to replace the traditional solvent based resin by the waterborne one.In the dissertation,different polymerization methods are designed including the post dispersing method and emulsion polymerization method for the sythesis of waterborne hydroxyl acrylate.The influence of polymerization composition and synthetic variables on the structure and stability of products is systematically studied.On this basis,desirable waterborne plastic coating is obtained,which shows excellent performance when applied to PVC plastic substrates.The main achievement of this work is as following:1.At the reaction temperature of 80 ?,solution polymerization method was applied in the mixed solvent of propanediol methyl ether and isopropanol.The free radical copolymerization was initiated by AIBN.The product was neutralized by amines and then dispersed in water for the formation of aqueous dispersion.The structure of the products was characterized by....infrared.......(FTIR)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).The properties of the products were systematically studied evaluated mainly by the stability and the viscosity of the dispersion.The prepared polymer with good water affinity was applied as the macromolecular emulsifier to stabilize emulsion polymerization.By combining with small molecular emulsifier,polyacrylate latex could be obtained with the average particle size below 150nm and with suitable for viscosity.2.Hydroxyl acrylate polymer latex was synthesized by semi continuous emulsion polymerization using...(MMA),....(BA)and...(EHA)monomers,HPMA and HEMA as functional monomers.The effects of latex particle structure design,monomer composition design and emulsifier on the synthesis and the latex film properties were studied systematically.The feeding ratio in the two steps,the ratio of hard and soft monomer,the type and dosage of hydroxyl functional monomer,the type and dosage of emulsifier were optimized.The structure of the product was characterized by FTIR and TEM,and the properties of the products were evaluated by the particle size,gel rate,storage stability,adhesion and hardness.The optimized latex can be obtained when the ratio of two-step-feeding method is 5:5,the polymer in the first step is of the glass transition temperature designed at 70 ?,the amount of HPMA is 15%,and the emulsifier is 2%.The particle size is around 107nm,the gel rate is less than 1%.Plastic coating was prepared uising the latex as the binder.After being coated and cured,the adhesive force of the plastic coating reaches 0.The wet rubbing resistance and rubbing resistance are excellent,the hardness reaches 3H,and the adaptation period can reach 20h.
