With the rapid development of building industry, concrete is used increasingly. As a kind of environmental friendly raw material of building, ferrous mill tailing receives high attention. The tensile strength of ferrous mill tailing concrete is studied through test, and it makes using of finite element software to verify.Testing contents include test of axial tension, cleaving test and bending test.In each test, ferrous mill tailing concrete is designed to have five levels of strength including C30,C35,C40,C45,C50,while common concrete PC40 is used for comparing.Cleaving test and bending test are conducted according to regulations.Test of axial tension needs to rely on tie rod. Then tensile strength of concrete is figured out through test of axial tension, and cleaving test and bending test are verified through ABAQUS test. The main results are as follows:1)Through study, axial tensile strength, cleaving tensile strength and bending tensile strength of ferrous mill tailing concrete are got through tests.Axial tensile strength is close to cleave tensile strength, but cleaving tensile strength is high. However, bending tensile strength has bigger dispersion.2)Under the same mixing proportion of concrete, tensile strength of ferrous mill tailing concrete is higher than ordinary concrete.3)The relationships between axial tensile strength, cleaving tensile strength, bending tensile strength and compressive strength are obtained through test data.4)Axial tensile strength can get the rising phase of stress-strain curves, and tensile peak strain and concrete tensile elastic modulus can be obtained through stress-strain curve.5)Through test, tensile strength and compressive strength are got.As a result, the rule obtained by ABAQUS is consistant with the result of test.
