The metal content in the steel is an important indicator to determine the mechanical properties of steel, smelting high-quality steel, smelting process must be in the content of each element in real-time monitoring strictly.Laser induced breakdown spectroscopy(referred to as LIBS)can accurately measure the content of each element in the material, and its small sample loss detection without prior sample processing, can truly realize the advantages of real-time online multi-element simultaneous detection,in the metallurgical field has important guiding significance and a wide range of applications prospect.LIBS technology is first proposed by the foreign experts put forward to get extensive attention in various fields, have adopted the method to detect the material composition, for example: detection of environmental pollutants, detection of geological rock, metallurgical analysis field, this technology also got certain development in China. Therefore, focuses on the analysis of LIBS multi-element composition in molten steel, the specific process is as follows:The first describes the domestic and foreign research status of LIBS technology and its mathematical theory and principle, including the factors of the formation mechanism of spectral line and the influence of spectral intensity, and the influencing factors were analyzed to find the optimal method to reduce the impact;on the method of quantitative to analyze their advantages and disadvantages are discussed;choose reasonable experiment device to build the LIBS experimental platform, preliminary experiments were conducted to optimize the parameters affecting the experimental results, the good basis for the next step of the experiment;using the Calibration-Free method of component content of multi elements in liquid steel in the experimental platform is built up on the quantitative analysis, analysis the error of the content of Fe,Mn,Ni and the actual content of elements in the sample is 0.98%,6.13% and 4.70%,which reaches the expected value and meets the requirements of the experiment.
