The safety management activities for coal miners and coal mine production are the one of the key reforms of coal enterprises.Miners are the main body of the coal mine production activities whose behavior is an important factor to induce the safety accidents. So prevention and control of unsafe behaviors of miners is an important part of coal mine safety management.Self-esteem is a psychological component of self-regulation,and closely related to the psychological state and behavior. The research on self-esteem and unsafe behaviors is of practical significance in preventing and controlling unsafe behaviors.By collating the research literature on self-esteem,this paper analyzes the research status of self-esteem,defines mines self-esteem and sum up the feature, mechanism and measurement of self-esteem.By collating literature related to unsafe behavior, the definition and mechanism of unsafe behavior of miners were analyzed and described in detail. And questionnaire, experiments and on-site observations were compared.Hereby,a relationship model of implicit and explicit self-esteem and unsafe behavior was established.Combined with the measurement methods used in previous researches, unsafe behavioral experimental measurement indicators were selected and self-reported questionnaires were designed. After that, experimental equipment and materials were selected and experimental process was designed.Through strictly control the experimental implementation process, the data were collated. The final conclusions were obtained from those data.(1)Miners' implicit self-esteem and explicit self-esteem are separated, and effect on the performance mutually and collectively. There is a negative relationship between implicit self-esteem,explicit self-esteem and unsafe behavioral ability.Among this, the level of explicit self-esteem has a significantly greater effect on unsafe behavior than the level of implicit self-esteem.(2)Individual with different levels of self-esteem especially differently implicit and explicit self-esteem behaved differently. The individual with high explicit self-esteem,high implicit self-esteem or high implicit/high explicit self-esteem did not perform safer.(3)The linear fitting results of implicit self-esteem,explicit self-esteem and unsafe behavior ability were not significant. The degree of fitting of the cubic curve of explicit self-esteem and unsafe behavior ability was better. So the feedback path of the results of behavior to self-esteem is non-linear.Based on the results of data analysis, through the exploration of the nature of self-esteem,implicit self-esteem and explicit self-esteem,this paper gives management strategies including improving working environment, organization care, and communication on safety skill and rewards and punishments.
