With the rapid development of the aviation industry and improved engine performance,the demand for high performance engine blade is urging.To meet the requirements,more and more blades are made of titanium alloys and the small allowance forging and precision forging process are adopted instead of common die forging.This forging process maintains the forging flow line to the maximum,and highly improves the corrosion resistance and anti-fatigue properties of the blade,which ensures the blades durable in harsh environment.Presently,the precision forging of engine blades in foreign countries are quite mature,which makes rapid and stable production possible.However,the research on titanium alloy precision forging is still not well developed domestically.This study focus on small allowance forging process of the 1stand 2ndgrade rotor blade made of TA11,and prepares for precision forging research.According to the design drawings,produces forging drawings and appropriately distributes the deformationamountperheating.Theforgingprocessisas follows:extrusion-upsetting head-heading-1stpre forging-2ndpre forging-finish forging-sizing.Forging mold is designed and optimized in 3D model by UG,and forging process simulated through Deform.In order to determine the forging parameters,four heating temperatures are selected,which are 880?,910?,970?,1010?;Four strain rates are selected,which are 0.01S-1,0.1S-1,1S-1,10S-1,50S-1.Two deformation amount are selected,which are 30%and 50%.Metallographic structures of the samples are used to determine the appropriate forging temperature.The suitable auxiliary processes such as lubrication,polishing,chemical milling,surface cleaning,are also carried out.Finally,the small allowance forging blades are successfully produced.Compared the metallographic structure and mechanical properties of the blades produced on site with the forging standard requirements,the forging process is further optimized.Eventually,the small allowance forging pro cess of blades made of TA11 meets the design requirements.
