The steel / nylon sandwich plate has the performance of high specific stiffness,specific strength and energy absorption.It can be applied to the load-bearing and protective components of various structures,such as ships,aviation,buildings and automobiles.Based on the improvement of the core layer of the ordinary sandwich steel / nylon sandwich plate,oblique rib is added in panel.The face sheets and core are bonded together.Research on the performance of anti-penetration ofthis typesandwich plates.This paper first describes the background and significance of the penetration and the sandwich plate,and introduces the research status and development of the penetration and the sandwich plate.Then uses the universal testing machine to acquire the parameters of the steel material and the nylon material used in the sandwich plate.Penetration experiments forthe steel plate,nylon plate,steel and nylon plate combination target plate,and the sandwich plate penetration experiments,and the experimental results are analyzed and compared.Finally,the sandwich plate is simulated by finite element software.The effects of the sandwich plate are studied from the aspects of the warhead form,the direction and angle of the rib,the thickness of the rib,the thickness of the panel,the deflection angle.The main research contents and conclusions are as follows:(1)The mechanical properties of the steel and nylon materials used in the sandwich panel are measured by universal testing machine,which provides reliable parameters for subsequent simulation;(2)The device of penetration experimenis designed bySHPB.The sabot,projectile body and taget used in the experiment are designed and prepared.(3)Using the penetrating experiments deviceare carried out for the single plates,single nylon plates,steel and nylon composite plates,semi steel / nylon sandwich plates.The target damage and failure mode of sandwich plates are analyzed and compared.The results show that nylon plate has superior energy absorption performance and thesandwich plate has better performance ofanti penetration.(4)Using the finite element software and effectivestimulates the penettration process and failure mode of the part of tagets.(5)Finite element software ANSYS/LS-DYNA was used to ensure the model and parameters of the oblique rib steel / nylon sandwich platemodel.Considering the anti penetration properties of sandwich plates from the two aspects of ballistic limit velocity and angle of two kinds of different nose of the projectile,the inclination angle,different rib thickness and arrangement,different panel thickness and arrangement.After comparing the calculation and analysis of different conditions,the performence of sandwich plate defences thepenetration of blunt-nose projectiles is superior to hemispherical-nose projectiles.Increasing the thickness of the rib has the effect of promoting effect on anti penetration properties of sandwich plate,the deflection angle increases with the increase of the rib thickness.
