With the vigorous development of industrial big data and the requirement for high quality and high performance of steel,the requirement for rolling technology is also higher and higher,forcing the modern rolling mill to develop towards high load,high-precision,lightweight and intellectualization.As the core bearing part of rolling machinery,the oil film bearing is mainly used as a work roll bearing and a backup roller bearing,and its operation stability is directly related to the operation performance of the whole rolling mill.The main failure forms of oil film bearings are the plastic flow,wear and spalling of the liner Babbitt alloy layer.The main reasons for this situation are high speed and heavy load condition,high temperature rise,lubricating oil viscosity reduction,oil film thickness thinning,bearing capacity drop,even oil film rupture,rollers and bearings between the extrusion and wear.To solve these problems,this paper mainly studies the lubricating properties of ferrofluid lubrication media on the basis of introducing magnetic fluid lubrication method.The main research contents are as follows:(1)Firstly,a new type of magnetic fluid oil film bearing oil which is suitable for oil film bearing lubrication is prepared by chemical coprecipitation method.The magnetic fluid was characterized by macroscopic and microscopic methods,and the effects of different preparation processes on its microstructure,stability,dispersion and magnetization were studied,and a preparation method of oil-film bearing oil-based magnetic fluid was presented.(2)Secondly,the viscosity-temperature characteristic curve of the new type magnetic fluid oil film bearing oil with different volume fraction and the base-loaded liquid without magnetic field is calculated theoretically.The viscosity-temperature curves of oil-based magnetic fluids with different volume fractions under different magnetic field gradients and their viscosity-temperature curves under the same magnetic field gradient are tested by single factor experiment.The effects of volume fraction,temperature and magnetic field intensity on the viscosity of magnetic fluid are studied,which provides a reference for the realization of intelligent continuous lubrication.It is concluded from the experiment that the friction coefficient of ferrofluid lubrication is smaller than that of traditional lubrication,and the friction and wear characteristics are better.(3)Finally,based on the oil film test rig of large rolling mill in our university,according to the parameters of the oil-based Ferrofluid,Ansys CFX software was used to simulate the oil film characteristics of the oil film bearing ferrofluid lubrication,and the oil film temperature distribution,pressure distribution and shear strain rate distribution were solved respectively,and the results showed that the lubrication performance of the ferrofluid was good,and help to improve bearing capacity.
