The coal industry accounts for a large proportion in some local economies of China,and it is also an industry with high accident rate.Since the accidents have serious effects on coal mine safety production and the safety of miners,complexity of environment is not considered in traditional coal mine safety monitoring.And hazardous situation cannot be monitored comprehensively.In this paper,ontology is used to formalize complexity contextual information in coal mines.And combining with ontology reasoning mechanism to adequately get information hidden in context,it can improve the level of coal mine safety monitoring.On the basis of consulting and analyzing knowledge characteristics of coal mines,ventilation system and transportation system ontology model are constructed with seven steps method,and it carries out the following research in detail.In order to achieve automatic update of ontology concept and reduce too many dependencies on domain experts,semantic similarity-based ontology concept update method is provided.Firstly,an improved WordNet-based similarity algorithm is implemented.The influences of node depth and information content on similarity results are comprehensively considered based on path length.Then,to make up several inadequacies that semantic information of property is neglected by WordNet-based similarity algorithm,property similarity is taken into account to make an adjustment.Finally,comprehensive similarity is computed between concepts and ontology update is achieved by adding a new concept in ontology.In order to apply related ontology technology to coal mine safety monitoring,reasoning rules based on Jena are established according to three regulations.Ontology reasoning technology is used to fully identify potential risk factors of working environment and provide intelligent monitoring and early-warning.In view of ontology reasoning uncertainty and unreliability,rules are integrated by the improved evidence theory to eliminate rule conflicts and realize comprehensively evaluation of coal mine safety status.At last,the effectiveness and accuracy of the similarity algorithm and ontology concept update method are verified by experiments.Simulation data are adopted in the experimental validation of mine environment evaluation.The results show that the method to combine evidence theory with ontology reasoning has much feasibility and effectively improves the accuracy of results.A coal mine safety monitoring system based on ontology reasoning is designed and realized with the foundation of the above research achievements.It can play a reference and guiding role in further safeguarding safety production of coal mine.
