In our previous work,Rh,Pt,Ru,Ir,Pd and Au nanoparticles stabilized by thermoregulated phosphine ligand were prepared, and realized their continuously reversible phase-transfer abilities in the water/n-pentanol biphasic system. However, the application of Ru nanoparticles has not been studied in the thermoregulated phase-transfer system. In this paper,Ru nanoparticles stabilized by Ph2P?CH2CH2O?22CH3(Lp1000)were applied to the selective hydrogenation of quinolines and isoquinolines. The separation and recycling of Ru nanoparticles were realized successfully.Firstly, the Ru nanoparticles stabilized by Ph2P?CH2CH2O?22CH3 were used as catalyst in the selective hydrogenation of quinoline.Under the optimized reaction conditions:T=130 oC,t=4 h,PH2=4 MPa,quinoline/Ru=1500?molar ratio?,AcOH/quinoline=0.4?molar ratio?,Lp1000/Ru=3?molar ratio?,more than 99%conversion of quinoline and more than 99%selectivity of 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline could be achieved. The catalyst could be used for 4times,and the conversion was maintained over 90%.The TON value was 5790,which was equivalent to the highest value ever reported for the selective hydrogenation of quinoline catalyzed by Ru nanoparticles. Then, the Ru nanoparticles stabilized by Ph2P?CH2CH2O?22CH3 were used as catalyst in the selective hydrogenation of isoquinoline.Under the optimized reaction conditions:T=130oC,t=6 h,PH2=4 MPa,isoquinoline/Ru=50?molar ratio?,AcOH/isoquinoline=96?molar ratio?,Lp1000/Ru=30?molar ratio?,more than 99%conversion of isoquinoline and more than99%selectivity of 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline could be achieved. The Ru nanoparticles can be recycled in the selective hydrogenation of isoquinoline. The catalyst could be used for5 times. The conversion can stay above 90%,and the TON value was 242,which to the best of our knowledge has reached the optimal level ever reported for the selective hydrogenation of isoquinoline catalyzed by Ru nanoparticles.
