Fiber reinforced composites are widely applied in aviation and aerospace industries because of its light and high strength characteristics.Fiber placement has been an important manufacturing technique to fabricate complex composite parts in recent years.Among them,path planning and CAM technology are one of the core technologies of fiber placement,which can significantly improve the material utilization,improve the efficiency of laying down and reduce production cost and cycle.The complex conical shell parts have a large proportion in the field of aviation and aerospace composite materials,so this research has high practical value.Firstly,this thesis studies the path planning algorithm for the tail of the kitty hawk500 plane's tail.After the analysis of the structure characteristics of mandrel,the thesis put forward a set of complete and reasonable path planning algorithm which includes the generation of track and border,the production of various tows,boundary treatment,the control of gap and overlap,the calculation of special points and tows' quantity,track connection and so on.By the method of secondary development of CATIA,the path planning algorithm mentioned in this thesis is verified.Secondly,this thesis studies the post-processing algorithm of the gantry fiber laying machine.This thesis put forward the pose separation method which divides the gantry fiber laying machine into two parts,the spindle and the manipulator.By use of the D-H method,the linkage coordinate system of the machine tool and the kinematics equation have been established,so the inverse kinematic solution has been completed.By calculating 0° laying track's post processing results,the rationality of the post processing algorithm is verified.Then,this thesis develops a set of fiber laying software for the gantry fiber laying machine.The software includes the path planning of the complex conical shell parts,the post processing of gantry fiber laying machine,the motion simulation and so on.The motion simulation experiment of the kitty hawk 500 plane's tail has been completed.At last,this thesis completed the experiment of the kitty hawk 500 plane's tail.By use of the fiber laying software,the NC codes which includes the tow cutting and resend instruction have been generated.After that,this thesis have completed the 0°,±45° and 90° layer laying experiments and the laying molding manufacturing of the kitty hawk 500 plane's tail on the basis of the best layer scheme according to the layer design.What's more,the control scheme of gap and overlap is verified.
