With the development of market economy,market demand tends to be diversified,and product customization tends to be prevalent.In order to meet market demand,more and more companies choose mixed production mode which include inventory oriented and order oriented mixed production models instead of stock oriented manufacturing,so that they can shorten the manufacturing lead-time and improve the response speed to customers at the same time.This paper under the background of field study of an enterprise in China,a production planning framework for the case company is established based on MRP,JIT,TOC and MTO-MTS mixed production planning management theory which focuses on solving the problem of powder replenishment plan(make-to-stock)and magnetic core production plan(make-to-order).The research of this paper aims to reduce the WIP inventory,improve the capacity utilization of bottleneck process and on time delivery of orders.For the powder production process,the problem of high inventory,capacity waste and unreasonable allocation is analyzed and the minimum maximum inventory control strategy(s,S)is studied to minimize the sum of production costs,setup costs,inventory holding costs and shortage costs.In addition,the powder production sequencing and inventory control is realized by a proposed fixed cycle(R,s,S)model.For the magnetic core production process,the problem of high inventory,low bottleneck capacity utilization and heavy workload of planning are is analyzed.Based on the heuristic rules and the theory of constraint(TOC),an appropriate control method of forming and sintering production planning is designed combined with DBR model.Based on the method,a planning process is established to achieve the workshop production sequencing,minimum forming in-process products and maximum sintering production capacity.Finally,the proposed methods are integrated into an Advanced Planning System(APS)which builds the overall production plan of the workshop containing powder stock replenishment plan and magnetic core production plan.The system is applied into the case company A and initial demonstration of the implemented gives significant results.
