The microstructure and properties of the aluminum alloy conductor with high magnesium and silicon(6201-L)were mainly studied in this paper as well as 6201 aluminum alloy.The self-made alloy sample with the composition was Al-%1.1mg-1.0% Si was so called 6201-L.By means of EDS energy spectrum analyzer,S5600 electron scanning microscope,TJ48 two-arm direct current tester,SWNS CNT5105 universal tester,MU18415 Vickers hardness tester and other detection equipment,and was compared with 6201.the microstructure and properties of 6201-L and 6201 alloy conductors prepared by dynamic aging process were studied and main research results were obtained in this paper as follows:(1)The effect of ECAP dynamic aging process on the microstructure of high magnesium silicon aluminum alloy(6201-L)was studied.The results show that the alloy grains of 6201-L were effectively refined by ECAP dynamic aging process.the average grain diameter of aluminum alloy wire prepared by 4 roll-pass dynamic ECAE is less than 10 um.(2)The effect of ECAP dynamic aging on the precipitated phase of 6201-l alloy was studied,the results show that the ??needle-shaped(measured by using EDS energy spectrum analysis)mainly formed in the first roll-pass,after that the ??needle-shaped phase disappear and transform to new ??globular phase with the roll-pass of ECAE increase to the third.However,this globular phase is unstable with inhomogeneous distribution.the nucleation ration and growth speed up,almost all of the precipitated phase transformed from needle phase to spherical phase.so the microstructure is improved by this process.(3)The effect of ECAP dynamic aging on the properties of aluminum alloy conductors with high magnesium silicon was studied,the results show that the tensile strength increases and the conductivity decreases with the increase of the ECAE roll pass,and the tensile strength of 6201-L is higher than that of the 6201 with lower conductivity.The tensile strength increases with the increase of aging time;however,the tensile strength decreases with the aging time further prolonging.When 6201-L alloy prepared by 4 roll-pass ECAP soaked at 170?for 2h,the tensile strength,electrical conductivity were 325.4~329.5 MPa and 52.98%~54.15% IACS respectively,it is obviously improved compared to the Al-Mg-Si alloy conductors produced presently.
