In the implementation of halon fire extinguishing agent elimination,at the same time,fires still occur all over the world.So,it is imminent to find a new type of halon substitute fire extinguishing agent.Two new types of halon replacement fire extinguishing agents have been developed so far,including clean fire extinguishing agents,other fire extinguishing agents and so on.Among them,perfluoro-hexanone fire extinguishing agent is the most respected new type of clean gas fire extinguishing agent in the world after the transitional fire extinguishing agent such as heptafluoropropane and has been widely used in developed countries because of its high efficiency,cleanness and environmental friendliness.On the one hand,due to the late promotion of transitional fire extinguishing agents such as heptafluoropropane and the lack of understanding and technical preparation of perfluorohexanone fire extinguishing agents,our country has not yet started to use it.The fire extinguishing concentration is one of the key performance parameters of perfluorohexanone extinguishing agent.It is a must-check project of its related standards and engineering design codes.At present,large scale standard tests are mainly used to measure the fire extinguishing concentration of perfluorohexanone in the world,the test is complicated and the test cost is very high.Developing a miniaturized test system has become the coveted test method in the industry.In this paper,a fire extinguishing concentration test system for liquid perfluorohexanone fire extinguishing agent was developed based on the cup burner.The fire extinguishing concentration of perfluorohexanone fire extinguishing agent was determined.The instrument was used to study the synergistic extinguishing effect of perfluorohexanone with other extinguishing agent and provided the technical support for monitoring the quality and fire extinguishing efficiency of perfluorohexanone fire extinguishing agent in fire extinguishing system.The main contents of this paper and the progress made in this paper include:Firstly,design of a miniaturized test apparatus suitable for the fire extinguishing concentration test of perfluorohexanone fire extinguishing agent.Based on the traditional cup burner,the perfluoroketone extinguishing agent was determined by using the peristaltic pump to feed the liquid to the burner.The liquid material from the peristaltic pump was vaporized by oil bath-metal coil heating and heat exchange method,using the bottled high pressure air/pressure relief valve/air mass flowmeter for the quantitative delivery of air to a cup burner.The air and gasified perfluorohexanone is mixed uniformly in the pipeline in a turbulent flow,and flow to the burner to measure the fire extinguishing concentration of the liquid extinguishing agent.Secondly,with the help of a new developed system for testing the fire extinguishing concentration of perfluorohexanone fire extinguishing agent,the influence of test conditions on the accuracy of the fire extinguishing concentration measurement is studied.The results show that the suitable test conditions are:the oven temperature is 50.0 ±1.0 ?,the air Feed temperature is 90.0 ± 2.0 0C,oil bath temperature is 130 ? 1.0 0C and heating coil diameter is 12mm.The tube length is 276cm.The room temperature at 10 ??22 ? has no significant effect on the measurement accuracy.Room temperature controlled at 10??25?.Thirdly,the synergistic fire extinguishing effect of perfluorohexanone and carbon dioxide,nitrogen,HFC-125 and halon 1301 gas extinguishing agent was experimentally studied with the new system for testing the fire extinguishing concentration of perfluorohexanone fire extinguishing agent.The results show that there was a negative synergistic effect between perfluorohexanone and inert gases such as carbon dioxide and nitrogen,a negative synergistic effect between perfluorohexanone and halon 1301,and a significant positive synergy between perfluorohexone and HFC-125 effect according to the value of synergistic factor.The results also show that the concentrations of carbon dioxide,nitrogen,HFC-125 and halon 1301 measured by the newly developed fire extinguishing concentration test system are in good agreement with the published values in authoritative literature.
