The traditional grinding of ring raceway is difficult to reach high shape accuracy and low surface roughness.The superfinishing processing is not sensitive to the accuracy of the shape and position,and it is difficult to improve the profile errors caused by former processing.The existing plunge ELID grinding of ring raceway has repeated copying between the grinding wheel and the workpiece,and it can't guarantee the profile precision of the ring raceway.In order to overcome the disadvantages of ring raceway processing technology,the final processing technology of ring raceway was explored,and a new processing method of ELID profile grinding for ring raceway of ball bearing based on circular trace feed was proposed.This paper was aimed at the circular trace feed of the processing,and the existing grinding system of ball bearing ring raceway was reconstructed,so a feed platform for grinding system of ring groove based on circular trace feed was designed.According to functional analysis,the feed platform for grinding system consists of a aligning platform with a aligning function and a swing rotary table to realize circular trace feed.The scheme designs of the aligning platform and the swing rotary table are carried out respectively.On this basis,the realizing mechanism of feed platform made up of aligning mechanism of screw nut and rotary mechanism of worm and gear is formed.Adopting modular design method,the structure designs of two functional modules of the feed platform and the selection and checking of the corresponding parts are carried out.Based on screw nut mechanism,the aligning platform with dual coordinate adjustment is designed.Based on worm and worm gear mechanism,the swing rotary table with offset structure of the rotary center is designed.The dynamic characteristics of the grinding system of ring groove based on circular trace feed are studied by numerical simulation,which research the influence of five-axis configuration on the dynamic characteristics of the ring groove grinding system.ABAQUS finite element software is used to the modal analyses of grinding system with different five-axis configurations,and the natural frequencies and modal shapes are extracted and compared.The results show that the grinding system for the first and the second configurations have better dynamic characteristics.By analyzing the machining precision of grinding systems for the first and second configurations,It is shown that the machining accuracy of grinding system for the first configuration is higher than that of the second configuration,so five-axis configuration strategy based on the first configuration is formed.According to the weak parts in the modal shapes,the structure of feed platform for grinding system is optimized.The modal shapes of the optimized feed platform are analyzed.The results show that the stiffness of the feed platform is enhanced and the dynamic characteristics are improved after the optimization.
