With the rapid development of China's aerospace,precision engineering,advanced detection equipment and other fields,the demand for carbide ball in high-precision bearing components is increasing and the accuracy requirements are also getting higher and higher.At present,the commonly used high-precision carbide ball processing methods generally have such problems as long processing cycle,poor batch processing accuracy and consistency,which do not meet the requirements of highefficiency,high-precision and high-volume production in actual practice,seriously restricting the large range of carbide ball promotion and application.In order to improve the lapping efficiency and precision of the carbide ball,this paper proposed a processing technology of using fixed abrasive grinding and free abrasive lapping.Based on the existing eccentric lapping method with two rotatable lapping plates,from the perspective of process test,the basic research and exploration on the preparation technology of Ni-diamond composite coating used in making diamond fixed abrasive grinding disc,fixed abrasive grinding and free abrasive lapping YG6 X carbide ball process were conducted.The main contents of this paper are as follows:Based on the preliminary exploration of the composite electrodeposition process,the preparation process of Ni-diamond composite electrodeposition was studied by using the Watt-type bath.The optimum process parameters were obtained,and the surface morphology,hardness and abrasion resistance of the composite coating were studied.A preliminary application of diamond fixed abrasive grinding disc preparation process was obtained.The chemical composition of YG6 X material was analyzed.The effect of different process parameters on the removal rate of YG6 X carbide ball material was studied by diamond fixed abrasive disc in a self-made two disc eccentric V-groove precision ball mill.The physical and mechanical properties of YG6 X carbide were studied by the Vickers indentation test and the micron scratch test.The morphology surface of the carbide ball and the wear debris were analyzed by SEM,and composition of the wear debris was analyzed by EDS to find out the material removal mechanism of fixed abrasive grinding YG6 X carbide ball.From the perspective of process test,the YG6 X carbide balls were refined by free abrasive.Through orthogonal experiment,the influence of grinding parameters on the sphericity and surface roughness of YG6 X carbide ball was analyzed and optimized process parameters were obtained under different evaluation index.The interference of other uninvestigated factors in the experiment on the test results was also studied,an optimized YG6 X carbide ball free abrasive lapping process was obtained.In this paper,Ni-diamond composite electrodeposition preparation process,composite coating quality inspection and analysis,diamond fixed abrasive grinding carbide ball process and material removal mechanism,free abrasive lapping process parameters optimization were studied.That provides a set of viable process plan for YG6 X carbide ball high efficiency,high precision,low pollution lapping processing,which is of certain reference value to the lapping process optimization of the high-precision carbide ball.
