After long-time development, horizontal wells technology has become a more mature technology.Since the last century,China began to introduce horizontal wells technology, and achieved good yield effect. With the development of horizontal well fracturing technology, the application of this technology has become the main development direction of low permeability reservoir development.Horizontal wells expand the contact areas between the wellbores and the reservoir, which increase the seepage areas, but also lead to breakthrough more quickly for water phase, which will affect the production effect seriously,so how to identify the dominant channel quickly and effectively is of great significance for improving development effects of oil reservoirs. The main content of this study is to identify the dominant channel and the dominant position of the horizontal well based on the production dynamics.Firstly, based on the orthogonal grid and discrete fracture model,a reservoir grid model will be established, and then build the reservoir attribute model by Kriging interpolation method.Next, reservoir flow mathematical model and horizontal well pressure drop model will be built, and solving this coupled equations by Newton iteration method and automatic differentiation method, and verifying the correctness of the model by comparing with Eclipse. After all of those, making further efforts to identify dominant channel.Building a typical model and analyzing the characteristics of horizontal well production distribution along wellbore. Then, explaining the rationality of identifying dominant channel through excess water and proposing the method of calculating excess water in numerical simulation. Finally, building a field model to analyze the conditions of the reservoir development in different stages, and proposing the adjustments to adjust production measures based on current status.
