Based on the conventional chemical reduction method,a facile controlled route,dropping method,has been proposed to synthesize Ni nanowires?NWs?.The synthesis mechanism,controllable fabrication process and the magnetic properties of Ni NWs were investigated.1)The dropping method has been developed.The Ni NWs with a diameter lower than 100nm and aspect ratio higher than 280 were firstly synthesized by optimizing the synthesis parameters,then the possible synthesized mechanism was discussed.2)The average diameter of Ni NWs was tuned from 85 nm to 350 nm by simply adjusting the reaction conditions of the Ni2+concentration and the precursor solution addition,and a simple empirical model has been proposed for the tuning synthesis of the Ni NWs.3)Magnetic properties of Ni NWs synthesized by the dropping method was evidently different from that of Ni NWs synthesized by the template method.The coercivity?Hc?of Ni NWs synthesized by the dropping method was as a function of the aspect ratio rather than diameter.Meanwhile,the variation of Hc of Ni NWs can be described using the chain-of-sphere model.4)Finally,the novel Ni@AgBr:Ag core-shell nanoparticles have been synthesized.The results showed that the Ni@AgBr:Ag nanoparticles exhibit excellent visible light photocatalytic activity for the degradation of acid red 73 dyes.Furthermore,these nanoparticles could be recovered conveniently by applying an external magnetic field.
