Synthesis Of Composite Emulsifier With Two Tails And Its Application

Asphalt with less energy consumption,environmentally friendly and low requirements on the conditions are widely used in road construction and architecture.The performance of emulsified asphalt depends on the emulsifier,thus,the key factor of emulsified asphalt is to research a capable emulsifier.In this study,we have designed a composite emulsifier with two tails.Because the structures of the two tails are different,it can emulsify different kinds of asphalt.In addition,it is composited by cationic surfactant and nonionic surfactant,so it has high storage stability.Above all,it also has the characteristics of storage stability,slow-breaking and quick setting.This emulsifier was synthesized by polyoxyethylene(10),epichlorohydrin,tetraethylenepentamine and stearic acid.We have studied the optimal conditional experiment,such as the reaction temperature,the reaction time and the molar ratio,the maximum yield rate of the every step reaction were 92.1%,99.0%and 82.5%.Its structure was characterized with infrared spectrum(IR)and proton nuclear magnetic resonance(~1H NMR),and the result indicated that the target product was synthesized.The physicochemical properties of the composite surfactant,such as CMC,the surface tension under the CMC,HLB and?zeta potential were studied,the result were 10-4.5mol/L?39.1mN/m?10 and 34.8,which can meet the requirement of emulsified asphalt.The experiments of emulsified asphalt were also studied,and the result indicated that different types asphalt could be emulsified.The technological conditions of the emulsified asphalt were studied,it showed that the best emulsifying conditions were the quality of the asphalt was 50g,the quality of the emulsifier was 2.4g,the temperature of the water was 90?,the temperature of the asphalt was 130?,The proportion of oil and water is 1 to 1 and the pH value was 3~4.The condition of emulsifying such as demulsification speed test,the content of evaporate residue,the iconicity,the initial setting time test were explored,the result were slowly,53.2%,0.030%,cationic,135min.It indicated that the asphalt emulsion is suitable for slurry seal technology and micro surfacing technology.
