The practice of oil exploration and development at home and abroad shows that casing damage is one of the main problems affecting the development of oil field, which has seriously affected the safe production of oilfield. It is not difficult to find the cause of most of the oil casing damage are more complex, rather than a single factor leading results through the analysis of domestic and international casing damage situation, which include both geological factors and engineering factors. This is not only because of the differences in the geological conditions of the reservoirs themselves. The actual drilling conditions are different for different wells. The more important reason is that most of wells at the beginning of casing design for later production of casing strength requires are low. There has been a series of casing damage in the process of drilling for Tarim oilfield which is still in the early stage of oil field development, which is more complicated and has some special rules.Through literature study and investigation, the causes of casing damage are classified.According to the failure condition of the 11 casing damage wells in the Tazhong and Tabei area and statistical analysis of damage over the years in the Tarim Oilfield(except Yuke block)in 2012~2014,the damage law of the area is analyzed and summed up.Firstly, the bushing is bent in the process of casing running.Secondly, casing damage due to cementing operation.Thirdly, casing damage is caused during drilling cement plug and poor casing quality results in casing damage. Then the relevant software is used to simulate and analyze the law and the validity of law is verified. In addition, combined with the research on the rationality of the engineering process, some suggestions are put forward to optimize the process.
