This thesis consists of four chapters. The first chapter reviews the applications of copper catalysts in organic synthesis;the second one focuses on chemoselective synthesis of ?-substituted cyclohex-2-enones,4-phenylcoumarin and biaryls via copper/Selectfluor system-controlled dehydration-oxidation of tertiary cyclohexanols; The third one deals with Cu(0)-catalyzed synthesis of 1-tetralone from 1-phenylcyclobutanol;the last one is conclusion and outlook of the present research work.Firstly, the physical and chemical properties of copper and the development of copper catalysts in organic synthesis are reviewed. And some recent examples on tandem reaction of copper-catalyzed C-H activation/functionalization were reviewed. On the basis of above background, the main designing ideas for this thesis is discussed. The second chapter and the third chapter focus on synthesis of 2-cyclohexenone,4-phenylcoumarin and biphenyl compounds and1-tetralone via copper/Selectfluor oxidation system. These reactions can offer different products based on various tertiary alcohols. The reaction has advantages of easily available starting materials, inexpensive catalysts, simple operation, mild reaction conditions, and broad scope for substrates. Finally,a summary and outlook of the present research work was discussed.
