Investigation And Prevention Of The Mercury Pollution In The Five Major Mercury Industry In Zhejiang Province

Mercury is one of the long-term environmental pollutant that exist in the atmosphere and has the global migration.With the rapid development of industry,the use of mercury resources,the rapid increase of mercury emissions,the problem of mercury pollution is becoming increasingly serious.Mercury is highly toxic,persistent,long distance migration and biological enrichment.Mercury can be divided into elemental mercury,organic mercury and inorganic mercury,in which methyl-mercury(one of the form of organic mercury)has the strongest toxicity.Methyl-mercury in the environment can be formed through microbial activities,and through various channels to enter the water and atmosphere,causing environmental pollution,and then through the food chain enrichment endanger human health.Therefore,comprehensive understanding of the status of mercury pollution sources is the basis and prerequisite for the prevention and treatment of mercury pollution.Based on five major categories of industry process in Zhejiang Province,such as the production of PVC with calcium carbide method,battery,electric light source,medical thermometer,and lead and zinc smelting,the mercury pollution status was investigated.By understanding the mercury industry characteristics,production process,"three wastes" of mercury emission and pollutants emission reduction measures such as information,based on the actual monitoring method,material balance algorithm and pollution coefficient calculation method,supplemented by data acquisition,trying to fully ascertain the Zhejiang Province involving mercury enterprise regional distribution,industry distribution,and strive to fully grasp the mercury in the province's production,processing,use,emissions and the back situation.Analysis and evaluation of Zhejiang Province mercury use and emissions characteristics and problems.Finally,according to the characteristics of mercury use and emissions in Zhejiang Province,and the present situation of pollution,the following points are put forward to prevent and control the pollution:One is to establish a sound management system,improve the regulatory efficiency;two is to optimize the regional layout,industrial agglomeration development;three is to accelerate the elimination of backward production capacity,promote industrial restructuring and upgrading;four is to vigorously promote clean production,improve the traditional industrial technology equipment level;five is to strengthen pollution prevention and control of mercury pollution control,accelerate the promotion of alternative products and alternative technologies,eight is to carry out pollution prevention and control of mercury pollution prevention education,enhance public awareness.
