Organic metal complexes are metal organic hybrid materials formed by multidentate molecular organic ligands and metal ions with coordination bonds.Due to the different nature of ligands and metal ions,the complexes have potential applications in luminescence,magnetic and nonlinear optical materials.At present,such multidentate ligands have caused great attention,they have many kinds of containing oxygen,nitrogen,sulfur and so on.The characteristics of these ligands enriched greatly the people's research field,such as materials,pharmaceutical chemistry,catalysis and supramolecular chemistry.Ligand of pyridine ring is a common and important class of ligand in organic complexes.Based on the above reasons,we have extended 2,2':6',2"-terpyridine(TPY)and 2-(2-thienyl)imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]-phenanthroline(TIP)by by S-and N-containing aromatic heterocyclic rings.On the one hand,dibenzothiophene and N-phenylcarbazole with big planar structures are introduced to the para position of central pyridine ring in TPY with the thiophene bridge.Furthermore,two Cu(?)complexes of ternary ligand La are produced with 1:1 and 1:2 metal/ligand ratios.And comparisons have been made on cis and trans configuration,adjacent aromatic rings dihedral and photophysical properties before and after the Cu(?)ion complexation,On the other hand,pyridine and pyrimidine rings are introduced to the a and P positions of thiophene ring in TIP,obtaining a pair of D-A-D TIP derivatives.Carbazole is a well-known conjugated unit that has interesting optical and electronic properties such as photoconductivity and photorefractivity.Carbazole derivatives are usable for light-emitting layers because they are thermally stable and show blue photo-and electroluminescence-based on the large band gap of the biphenyl unit and planarity improved by the bridging nitrogen atom.Carbazole derivatives are also used as materials for hole-transporting layers of electroluminescent devices due to their high charge mobility.Based on this,we have synthesized six D-A cyanovinyl compounds by different combinations of N-phenylcarbazole and thiophene rings.
