| The activation of unreactive C-H bonds serves as an important step in many synthetic transformations. Many reports have been focus on the effective ways to improve the selective activation of C-H bonds. The organic electro-activation of C-H bonds is a kind of green and atomic economical synthesis methodology because it involves only electronic gains and losses. In this paper, the ionic liquid/carbon nanotube composites was prepared and used in the electro-activation of the C-H bond of aromatic compounds in aqueous solution.First, the EmimAc/MWCNTs composite was prepared and characterized through SEM and TEM.The electro-oxidation properties of p-methoxy toluene(p-MT)and its electrochemical kinetics were studied through CV,chronoamperometry and controlled potential electrolysis in the composite electrolyte solution. The results showed that the electrochemical oxidation of p-MT in the composite electrolyte solution was irreversible. The process was mainly controlled by diffusion, and the diffusion coefficient(D)was 7.69×10-10 cm2·s-1.Increasing the reaction temperature and the concentration of substrate could promote the electro-oxidation of the C-H bond to the corresponding aldehyde, the yield of p-methoxybenzaldehyde(p-MBA)could improve to 87%,the selectivity could improve to 95%.The electrolysis in one-compartment electrolysis cell was more efficiency and has better selectivity than that in the H-type.When the composite was used as a composite electrode, the yield of the corresponding aldehyde could improve to 88%.After eight times recovering experiments, the composite electrode still has high catalytic stability. Moreover, either as composite electrolyte or composite electrode, the composite also have some applicability for the electro-oxidation of C-H bonds of other aromatic compounds. |
