Water pollution is one of the three major part of environment pollution. According to statistics,80% of the world’s disease related to water pollution, a large number of pollutants in water is a serious threat to human health. According to the characteristics of its development in our country, puts forward the comprehensive prevention and control of water pollution. Comprehensive prevention and control of water pollution is the comprehensive use of various measures to control water pollution measures, mainly include:1.Reduce the discharge of waste water and pollutants, including saving production wastewater, water quota regulations, improve production technology and management system, improve wastewater reuse rate, by using a new technology of non pollution or less pollution, make the material quota etc..2. The water shortage in the city and industrial and mining areas, the development of regional water recycling, wastewater reuse system etc.. The development of regional prevention and control of water pollution system, including the development of city water pollution control planning, river basin water pollution prevention and control management planning, implementing the system for controlling the total discharge of water pollutants, sewage after treatment by the development of appropriate artificial irrigation for farmland and back for the industry, the establishment of sewage pool in no pollution of groundwater under the condition of dry storage period, less sewage pollution load in flood period, by controlled dilution emission etc..3.Sewage treatment technology and development of high efficiency, low energy consumption to wastewater treatment.In recent years, the study of electrochemical catalytic oxidation degradation of organic compound in water has been widespread concern. Purification of organic pollutants in this method is applicable not only to biological calamity governance, and generally do not add chemical reagent, can avoid two pollution, after the treatment is easier, with good selectivity, has the advantages of simple equipment, easy to control.Ionic liquid was emerged as a new kind of green solvent recently. Here water soluble ionic liquid was used both as solvent and conductive electrolyte for the electro-oxidation of phenol in waste water. The degradation behavior of phenol with a graphite anode and a stainless steel cathode electrode was studied; and the best conditions for phenol electrolysis involving the current density, electrolysis time, pH environment etc. had been conducted. In addition to the study of pure ionic liquid as solvent electrolyte, the effect of ferrocene as electro-catalyst on the degradation of phenol was also received.
