Alkyl glycoside(APG),as a new type of non-ionic surfactant,has a series of excellent properties and can be applied in many fields such as daily chemical,medicine,and building materials.There are many deficiencies in the process of synthesizing the APG according to the report at home and abroad,such as long reaction time,complicated post-processing procedures,and high process costs.Aiming at the deficiencies in the process of the current industrial production of APG,this article aims at the influencing factors of the process,systematically examines the influence of various factors on the reaction results,selects the best APG production process for optimization,determines the most appropriate production process conditions,improves product quality and improves production efficiency meanwhile.Thereby,the process flow can be simplified and the production costs can be reduced to lay the foundation for the development of industrialized and efficient production of APG process.The work of this paper first optimizes the production process of batch-produced APG to determine the best process conditions firstly.Based on this research,combined with the basic concept of chemical process enhancement(mainly improving mass transfer and heat transfer),a new process for the continuous production of APG using a liquid membrane reactor(reaction time-consuming,high reaction efficiency)is proposed.At the same time,this paper develops a post-treatment process with low cost and high efficiency.In addition,this article tested and analyzed the performance of the synthesized product.In addition,this article tested and analyzed the performance of the synthesized series.Moreover,this article also designed a 2.4 t/d APG industrialization program,the specific research content is as follows:(1)Using a batch process(stirred tank reactor),crude monohydrate glucose and dodecanol as raw materials,dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid as a catalyst to synthesize crude APG;then,crude APG obtained Neutralization and de-alcoholization.Considering the influence of various factors on the production process,the best process conditions for APG synthesis and post-treatment are:reaction temperature range 115.0?130.0 ?,reaction time 2.0?2.5 h,vacuum range 0.08?0.10 MPa;Removed excess dodecanol(recyclable)for 140.0?160.0 ? and vacuum of 0.08?0.10 MPa.Under the above reaction conditions,the glucose conversion rate can reach 99.0%.This method has a long reaction time at high temperatures,a higher temperature during the alcohol removal process,a longer time,and a higher viscosity of the product,resulting in deeper color and poor quality of the product,which increases the difficulty of post-treatment(bleaching)process and is not conducive to industrial production.Therefore,it is necessary to further optimize the APG production process and post-treatment process.(2)Based on the study of synthesis of APG using a batch process,based on the basic concept of chemical process enhancement,a continuous production process(liquid film reactor)was used to optimize the APG production process,and the preferred reaction conditions were determined to be:The reaction temperature is 180.0 ?,the vacuum degree is 0.08?0.10 MPa,the reaction time is 4.0?6.0 min,and the conversion rate of glucose can reach 80.0?90.0%.With this process,the reaction time can be greatly shortened,the product color is light,and no subsequent decolorization process is required,which can effectively improve the production efficiency,improve the product quality,and reduce the process cost.(3)Improve the product post-treatment process(mainly for the dealcoholization process)and determine the preferred dealcoholization process:after neutralizing the reaction product(and adding appropriate amount of water),use ethyl acetate as the extraction agent.By removing excess dodecanol by means of extraction(recyclable),the content of dodecanol in the product can be reduced to less than 1.0%,which can meet the requirements of the national standard.The process can overcome many deficiencies in the post-treatment process of high temperature distillation and dealcoholation,which can further increase production efficiency,improve product quality,and reduce process cost.(4)Determination of the residual sugar and residual alcohol content,surface tension,foam performance,emulsifying properties,chroma,etc.of the synthesized APG product,and compared with the APG marketed,the test results are basically in line with the expected results:The residual alcohol content is less than 1.0%;the minimum surface tension is 26.834 mN/m;the critical micelle concentration value is 0.057%;the HLB value is 20.06,can be used as an emulsifier,and is an oil-in-water emulsifier;Fine and stable;Emulsion stability is grade 1;The product chroma reaches the national standard,similar to the commercial APG.(5)The APG industrialization plan with a design capacity of 2.4 t/d will initially discuss the determination of process flow,energy balance,and engineering calculation of major equipment,and provide a reliable basis for the industrialization of high-efficiency,low-cost production of APG.
