A Comparative Study On The Aesthetic Features Of The Style Of Miao Nationality Costume And Rococo Costume In The Application Of Costume Design

The style of costumes is the carrier of national spirits and cultural implications,which can reflect the characteristics of times,the features of a society and the traditions of a nation throughout a period of time.The style of Miao nationality costume is different from that of Rococo costume,for they come from different places respectively: the former is a part of the East,while the latter is a part of the West.Both of them occupy a place of their own in modern costume design in society.On the one hand,among national costumes,Miao nationality costume has its unique charms embodied in its colors,elaborate patterns and exquisite handicraft.The national characteristics of Miao nationality costume still remain distinctive over a long course of history.There are plenty of scholars who study Miao nationality costume and people who are interested in Miao nationality culture.On the other hand,Rococo costume is famous for its luxury and romance.Its style as a kind of design element in modern costume design wins it great popularity.It is of paramount importance to conduct a comparative study on the aesthetic features of the style of Miao nationality costume and Rococo costume.This thesis compares the aesthetic features of the style of Miao nationality costume and Rococo costume in the application of costume design,mainly centering on their differences in terms of forms from the perspectives of colors,crafts and pattern compositions as well as aesthetics from the perspectives of different forms of interpretations of beauty and different expressions of emotions.Guided by the aesthetic features,the thesis conducts a style oriented research on Miao nationality costume and Rococo costume which are from different places respectively.It studies the aesthetic features of the style of the two costumes from cultural differences and finds out the different preferences of the two costumes in outside forms as well as inside aesthetics.The thesis also conducts a market survey with a clear aim to know about the application of the style of Miao nationality costume and Rococo costume in modern costume design through a comparative method so as to appeal to the inheritance of national costume and give advice to the application of Miao nationality costume in modern costume design.As a carrier of culture,costumes meet people's needs of aesthetics.Meanwhile,it is a way of self-expression and the conveyance of different attitudes toward life.The reason why Miao nationality costume and Rococo costume still remain up to this day is that it is the combination of cultural richness and the great importance attached to national costumes.The application and studies on the elements in the style of Miao nationality costume in modern costume design helps pass on the style of Miao nationality costume.The issue worthy of studying is that how we can combine the elements in Miao nationality costume with modern costume design and make innovations so that the Miao nationality style will survive in the long run.
