Stmuli-responsive polymers are a class of materials which can receive and respond to stimulate signals from the environment, such as PH values, light, temperature, voltage, redox agents and gas, etc. After receiving the signals, the structure or the status of the polymers will change,as well as the physical and chemical properties, therefore display corresponding functions.Among these special polymers,glucose-responsive polymers can undergo different changes in physical or chemical properties such as volume phase transition varing with glucose concentrations, thus playing an important role in glucose detection, sustained drug release etc.The former recognition components of the glucose-responsive polymers are mainly composed of glucose oxidase and proteins which can bond to natural sugars, but the poor stabilities limit their use.Phenylboronic acid compounds can reversibly bond to glucose in water.Compared with the natural proteins, the phenylboronic acids possess controllable structure and superior stability, therefore are widely used in glucose recognitions. However, the phenylboronic acids can not only bond to glucose, but also some other sugars such as fructose and galactose. To make things worse, the phenylboronic acids affinity to fructose is stronger than glucose. So the selectivity of the phenylboronic acids' polymers remains a serious problem needed to be tackle dowm.In order to improve the selectivity of the phenylboronic acids polymers, this thesis synthesized novel phenylboronic acids polymers based on topological structure of the polymers and the monomers. The main research contents are listed as follows:1.The star-shaped polymers using the cyclodextrin as core and 4-Vinylphenylboronic acid as arms are successfully synthesized using atom transfer radical polymerization(ATRP).This star-shaped polymers are glucose sensitive and can catalize the Hantzsch reaction in one pot.During the reaction process, the glucose can be added to control the reaction rates.2.Inspired by the bonding mechanism of the natural glycoprotein with glucose,a class of phenylboronic acids microgels are successfully synthesized using specialized phenylboronic acids and anthracene, which deliver superior selectivity to glucose.
