The Design And Study Of Seamless Close-fitting Yoga Tank Tops

From our study and analysis of the current yoga tank top products from both domestic and international market,we learnt that most of the products were seamed.The pressure,uncomfortableness and other issues caused by the seam were often neglected.Further more,those current yoga tops made using seamless textile technology were often remarked that they are difficult to put on and take off.Therefore,we conducted this study of seamless close-fitting yoga tank tops.For our Hypothesis,we produced seamless yoga tops using Santoni SM8 TOP2 seamless machine which we weaved various functional yarns to different parts according to their unique functions and we further conducted series of experiments and examinations to provide references for future studies on improving comfort of yoga tops.In this essay,we initially designed four basic styled patterns of yoga tank tops based on initial market research and investigation,summarization of the style,fabric,structure,and other attributes of close-fitting sportswear and yoga-wear in the current market and the combination designing,sport medicine,human functioning theories.In our experiment,we examined ten different fabric designs;we conducted shrinking and stretching test to understand the shrinkage and stretchiness attributes of different fabrics;we measured the stretchiness of women’s upper body skin using 3D body scanning technology and Rapidform xor3 Software to analyze the distribution and elongation rates of front,side and back skins when they are stretched.Based on the four basic styled patterns and the skin distribution and elongation rates,we further designed two ergonomic yoga tank tops,in which we applied different attributes of fabric designs to different part of the yoga vest.After these two yoga tops were produced we conducted a comfort evaluation subjectively and objectively.From which,we concluded that both yoga tank tops were able to satisfy the pressure comfort of yoga practitioners under any movements.Thus,the design of seamless close-fitting yoga tank tops can be used as a new design approach.
