COREX has been the industrialized smelting reduction ironmaking process in recent years which cancels the part of coking and sintering.COREX has the advantages of short route,less operation and lower pollution comparing with the blast furnace.COREX-3000 being moved to Bayi Steel in Xinjiang,the method is developed with the cheap coal.Handling the rules of burden distribution in different conditions is the only way to charge the production efficiently on site,which provides the conduct to operation of COREX in new environment.Experimental facility is established with the proportion of 1:7.5 based on the melter gasifier of COREX-3000.Also,the experiment of burden distribution is carried out by the actual raw materials.The modes of burden distribution on site are separated to three types:coal locating before pellet,coal locating after pellet and coal apposing with pellet.The influences of types,modes and the height of stockline for the shape of material heap and the pile structure with the devices of utilizing the gimbal distributor and the DRI-flap distributor.The result shows the tendency that the modes of burden distribution have little impact on the shape of material heap which likes steamed bread with high center and low edge.Mixed with coal and pellet,the pile has no clear boundary.The ore to coal ratio from the center to the edge of gasifier shows the phenomenon from the rise to decline in the radial direction by the type of coal locating before pellet and the type of coal locating after pellet.However,the curve of ore to coal ratio has two peaks with the shape of M in the type of coal apposing with pellet.The pile structure's voidage shows U distribution from the center to the edge of gasifier in the radial direction.No matter the material is the coal or the pellet,the similar segregation exhibit that the small size particles are assembled at the center of the melter-gasifier and the big size particles get gather at the edge of it.Nevertheless,it's not obvious that the medium size particles'segregation occurs in the radial direction.In addition,the height of stockline has little effect on the result in various modes burden distribution.
