In this study,the main rivers and lakes were focused in the coastal zone of north?ern Jiangsu,water,sediment and plankton community were investigated,the pollution and spatial distribution characteristics of conventional pollutants were analyzed,and the environmental quality was evaluated.The study shows:In September,the Turb in the upstream of Xinyi River is higher,the concentra-tions of CODMn and NH3-N were higher than June.The comprehensive water quality reached Class ? and the standard in September and June.The downstream water quality was inferior to the upstream.NH3-N and CODMn were highly correlated.From upstream to downstream,oxygen consumption pollution and nutrient salt pollution showed an upward trend.The TOC of surface sediment had a low impact on organ-isms,and the main polluted heavy metal was Ni.The environmental quality of plank-ton was evaluated as ?-moderate to heavy pollution.DO,Sal,Chl-a and CODMn had a greater impact on plankton community.The Turb,Sal and Chl-a in the estuary of the Sheyang River were relatively high,and the highest pH reached 9.3.In September the average concentration of CODMn was 6.7 times that of June,and the highest concentration of TP was 1.2 mg/L in the estuary.The comprehensive water quality reached Class IV and the standard in Sep-tember and June.The overall oxygen consumption pollution was heavy,and the nu-trient salt pollution was relatively large in the estuary.DO and pH were highly corre-lated,and there was homology between TP and Turb,NH3-N and CODh4n.Cd was the main polluted heavy metal of surface sediment.The environmental quality of plank-ton was evaluated as moderate pollution,and Temp promoted the plankton communi-ty in Sheyang River.Excessive pH,Sal,DO and Chl-a inhibited it.In Shilianghe Reservoir,the highest Turb was 239.1 FTU,and the average pH was 9 in September.The concentrations of N and P were high,and there were obvious seasonal.The comprehensive water quality of two monitorings reached Class ?,In September,the oxygen consumption and nutrient salt pollution were higher.DO,NH3-N and TP were the main factors affecting pH,DO and NH3-N,TP and CODMn had high homology.Ni and Cd were the main polluted heavy metal of surface sedi-ment.The environmental quality of plankton was evaluated as mild to moderate pol-lution,and NH3-N,CODMn and DO had an impact on plankton community.The water environment of the rivers and lakes were weakly alkaline in the coastal area of northern Jiangsu,and the concentrations of DO were low.The main pollutions were N,P and CODMn The water quality of Xinyi River and Sheyang Riv?er reached the Class ? standard,and the water quality were poor in the estuary.Ni and Cd were the main polluted heavy metals in rivers and lakes.The environmental quality of plankton was evaluated as mild to heavy pollution,and various environ-mental factors had impact on plankton community.
