LNG cryogenic tank is the core equipment of LNG filling station,a vacuum insulated cryogenic pressure vessel used for LNG storage.Its safety performance and service performance will directly affect the safety and economic benefits of the filling station.With the wide application of cryogenic liquefied gases,the demand for austenitic stainless steel cryogenic containers is also increasing,especially for LNG cryogenic tanks.Therefore,the lightweight design of LNG tanks is of great significance.Under certain conditions,the strain hardening technology,in which the loading stress stretches austenitic stainless steel to plastic deformation and then unloads the stress to improve the yield of austenitic stainless steel,is an important direction for the lightweight design of cryogenic pressure vessels in the world.In this paper,the application of strain hardening in LNG cryogenic storage tank is discussed by consulting relevant data and standards,and the calculation,analysis and comparison are carried out according to practical examples.This article mainly carries on the following aspects:Firstly,LNG cryogenic storage tank will be introduced systematically from the aspects of medium,structure,adiabatic mode,material,safety device and pipeline.Secondly,the principle,advantages and disadvantages of austenitic stainless steel strain hardening technology,its influence on material properties,relevant national standards and manufacturing technology are studied.Thirdly,Comparing the non-strain strengthening design with the strain strengthening design by calculating the main pressure components of the commonly used 60m LNG cryogenic storage tank,and putting forward the improvement measures.Fourthly,through finite element analysis,the non-strain strengthening design,strain strengthening design and various stress conditions of storage tanks are compared.Fifthly,verify that the safety and performance of the strain-hardening design tank meet the relevant requirements.
