Study On The Preparation And Properties Of The Film-coated Down-proof Fabrics

The down products are lightweight and warm,making them ideal for cold-proof textiles.However,in the course of taking,down products will have problems of drilling,which will seriously affect the quality and appearance of the products.It is a serious quality problem and is also the main target of consumer complaints.Based on the analysis of the existing down-proof products,this paper proposed the development of laminated composite fabrics in view of the hot melt adhesive bonding process,which was used for the down-proof treatment of down products.And the properties of down-proof and comfort of different coated fabrics were studied systematically.The main research contents and conclusions are as follows:(1)The pure cotton and the silk fabric with good air permeability and skin-friendly property were used as the main research object,and the coating treatment was carried out on the pure cotton fabric by 21g/m2 and 30g/m2 PE film.Simultaneously,30gk/m2 PE film and TPU film were combined with silk fabric to obtain laminated composite fabrics,and the two nature fabrics were finished with polyurethane for down-proof property.The down-proof properties of the down package prepared from pure cotton and silk fabric,film-coated composite fabric,polyurethane finishing fabric and high count and density polyester bile cloth were tested by roller box method.The results show that pure cotton and silk fabrics do not have any down-proof properties,but the down-proof number of pure cotton/PE(21 g/m2)composite fabric,pure cotton/PE(30g/m2)composite fabric,silk/PE(21g/m2)and silk/TPU composite fabric are all less than 5,which have excellent down-proof properties;The down-proof number of bile cloth is about 40,and the down-proof property is poor;The down-proof number of pure cotton and silk fabrics finished with polyurethane is more than 50,and the down-proof property has not met the requirements of the qualified down products.(2)Then,the difference in warmth retaining property between cotton and silk fabric before and after film coating was tested by flat plate heat preservation instrument.It turns out that the coating of 30g/m2 PE film on cotton fabric will slightly reduce its warmth,but compared with the original fabric,the warmth retaining property of pure cotton/PE(21g/m2)composite fabric,silk/PE(21g/m2)composite fabric and silk/TPU composite fabric are improved on a certain extent.(3)Pure cotton and silk fabrics have excellent air and moisture permeability,but based on their lack of down-proof properties,the air and moisture permeability of the film-coated composite fabrics of pure cotton and silk fabrics was compared with polyester bile cloth with high count and high density.The results indicate that in addition to pure cotton/PE(30g/m2)composite fabric,the air permeability of composite fabrics treated with 21 g/m2 PE film and TPU film is higher than that of the bile fabric.However,all fabrics have relatively poor air permeability,and the air permeate rate ranges from 0.33 to 0.64 mm/s;The moisture permeability of all film-coated composite fabrics is better than that of bile cloth,and the moisture permeate rate of silk/PE(21g/m2)composite fabric and silk/TPU composite fabric is up to 3 grade index standard,possessing good moisture permeability.(4)The tensile properties of the fabric before and after the film coating were tested by an electronic strength tester.It turns out that the breaking strength of the fabric is improved after the film-coated treatment,but the elongation at break decreased.Afterwards,the relative hand of the film-coated composite fabric and the fabric finished with polyurethane was tested by the relative hand tester PhabrOmeter3 using pure cotton and silk as reference samples.It founds that the comprehensive handle of the film-coated composite fabric is less different from the original fabric,but there is a great difference between the polyurethane-finished fabric and the original fabric on the comprehensive handle.(5)Finally,the moisture heat transfer performance of the fabric before and after the film coating under different moisture content of down was studied.The results show that the moisture heat transfer performance of cotton and silk fabric is greatly affected with the increase of the moisture content of the down,nevertheless the moisture heat transfer performance of the film-coated composite fabric is relatively good.
