The heartwood of Dalbergia odorifera T.Chen which can be used to manufacture high-grade furniture and handicrafts has important value and function. It is an important traditional Chinese medicine listed in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia. However, very little study has analyzed the function and chemical composition of their leaves. In this paper, the chemical constituents and contents of essential oil, fatty acids and flavonoids was analysised. The components and antioxidant activities of essential oil and fatty acids in leaves were determined by infrared, gas chromatography with mass spectroscopy and UV-visible spectroscopy.Using ultra high performance liquid chromatography combined with mass spectroscopy to analyze the composition and content of isoflavones, and find characteristically different substances between leaves and heartwood extracts.Main conclusions are as follows:1.Using the simultaneous distillation extraction, the essential oil content of leaves was 0.0923%(w/w),the extraction efficiency was improved(compared to the steam distillation extraction rate of 0.0507%),and 76 chemical components in volatile oil were identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The main components were Phytol,Phenol,4-ethenyl-2-methoxy-,Dihydroedulan I,(-)-?-Elemene,Gedrol,Coumaran,Hexahydrofamesyl acetone, and the like. The DPPH and ABTS+ clearance experiments showed that the volatile oil had strong antioxidant activity.2.The yield of fatty acids extracted by ultrasonic reached 1.145%(dry weight g/100g),and the main components of fatty acids were Lauric acid,Myristic acid,Tetradecenoic acid,Palmitic acid,Palmitoleic,Oleic acid,Linoleic acid and Eicosanoic acid.3.The ethanol extract of Dalbergia odorifera T.Chen leaves has higher content of polyphenols(16.00mg QE g-1 DW)and flavonoids(8.92±0.34 mg TAE g-1 DW).The identification and content of Isoliquiritig,Tectorigenin,Genistein,Biochain A were determined by UPLC-QTof-MS.DPPH and ABTS free radical scavenging experiments demonstrated that volatile oils and fatty acids have strong antioxidant activity.4.UPLC-QTOF-MS detected 10123 and 10353 chemical constituents of Dalbergia odorifera T.Chen leaves and heartwood,of which 7473 kinds of the same components, indicating that the leaves can be used as a potential substitute for the chemical constituents of heartwood, and the orthogonal partial minimum is used.Multivariate discriminant analysis and related databases were used to screen the differential substances, and the unique components of the heartwood were cyclandelatehamaudol,Glyceollin I,8-deoxylactucin,and the specific components of the leaves,Methyl tortuoate D,Soyasapogenol A.The experiment was carried out to study the specific chemical constituents of essential oil, fatty acid and isoflavones from Dalbergia odorifera T.Chen leaves, and the antioxidant activity was determined and compared with the chemical constituents of heartwood. The results showed that the leaves are rich in chemical constituents, have strong antioxidant activity, contain a lot of chemical constituents similar to heartwood, and can be used as potential food and cosmetic raw materials.
