With the development of China’s political,economic and cultural influence in the world,the application of Chinese elements in the jewelry of international luxury brands has become a hot phenomenon in the design industry.Since 2008,China has become the second largest consumer of luxury goods in the world,with an annual growth rate of 20%.By 2016,statistics showed that the global personal luxury market reached 249 billion euros.Among them,the consumption of luxury goods in mainland China reached 17 billion euros,accounting for 23 percent of the total luxury purchases,and the Chinese consumer market is influencing the design trend of international luxury brands.The unique charm of Chinese culture shines brilliantly in the field of modern design and also brings the inspiration of innovative design to the design industry.In order to further explore the Chinese culture connotation,the value of the international luxury brand design,this paper could be divided into general view Chinese elements of visual symbols and two aspects of the cultural connotation in potential consciousness,through studying the historical development and the spread of Chinese elements and the transformation of the western social cognition to Chinese elements,sums up the era of modern "Chinese wind" forms the background and the meaning of culture.Jewelry is an important part of the international luxury category.This paper mainly studied the Chinese elements in the international luxury jewelry design through four aspects: modeling elements,material elements,decorative elements and symbolic elements.Fully grasp the environment and cultural advantages,understand the cultural connotation of Chinese elements,derive historical characteristics into jewelry design works,and realize the complete integration of visual symbols and cultural connotation.Based on historical relics and contemporary design cases,this paper conducts a systematic study on Chinese elements and seeks for the influence and effect of the cultural connotation of Chinese elements on the jewelry of international luxury brands.At the same time,through the analysis and summary of Chinese elements composition system and inheritance context,it serves the inheritance,development and innovation of Chinese native jewelry design.
