In 2015,the "General Plan for the Reform of Ecological Civilization System" issued by the Party Central Committee and the State Council proposed clearly to establish the concept of "Mountain-River-Forest-Farmland-Lake-Grass System is a Community of Life",take overall consideration of the various elements of natural ecosystem,and protect fully,restore systematically,administer comprehensively the various elements of natural ecosystem.As a province with abundant coal resources,Shanxi's ecosystem has been damaged and environment has been polluted while promoting economic development of national other regions.In order to change the past extensive development mode,build “ecological Shanxi”,realize to“optimize land use structure,stabilize ecosystem,improve function of ecosystem services ”,it is urgent to protect and restore the Mountain-River-Forest-Farmland-Lake-Grass System in the province.Dividing the ecoregions of Mountain-River-Forest-Farmland-Lake-Grass System is the premise for protecting and restoring elements of natural ecosystem.The paper taked the four cities of XinZhou,TaiYuan,LvLiang and LinFen as research area to divide the ecoregion of Mountain-River-Forest-Farmland-Lake-Grass System and put forward measures for different ecoregion.The main research contents of the paper were as follows:(1)Finded the problems and figured out next research content by reviewing domestic and foreign research progress about carrying capacity of resources and environment and dividing the ecoregion.(2)Discriminated limiting factors for carrying capacity of resources and environment in research area constructed the comprehensive evaluation index system.Based on leading function of social and economic development for evaluation units,acquiered the spatial distribution rule on carrying capacity of resources and environment using ArcGIS spatial analysis method.The rule was foundation of dividing the ecoregions.(3)Explored the ecological partitioning method based on the theory of resource and environment carrying capacity by analyzing the logical relationshipbetween carrying capacity of resources and environment and the ecoregions.Divided the ecoregions according to the principle of based on evaluation of resource and environmental carrying capacity,the principle of administering land space,the principle of coordinated development of natural ecosystems and economic and social systems,the principle of leading function.Through the above analysis,the following conclusions were obtained:(1)Most researches studyed the carrying capacity and purifying capacity of one or several ecological elements to the human socio-economic system based on the self-interest of human society,and few researches studyed systematically the various elements of natural ecosystem and the coordinated development of the ecosystem and the human socio-economic system;there was few researches on the combination of resource and environmental carrying capacity and ecosystem protection and restoration.So it is necessary to determine systematic,sound theoretical system and research model.(2)Based on the evaluation of resource and environmental carrying capacity,divided the research area into six types,including water resources,mine ecological environment-water resources,mine ecological environment,atmospheric environment,agricultural land-water resources,comprehensive ecoregions,ect.(3)Divided the research area into six first-level partitions,twenty secondary partitions according to the principle of natural condition similarity,target similarity,classification and grading.Promoted differentiated regulatory engineering measures for ecosystem protection and restoration to solve the leading ecological and eenvironmental problems taking the ecological protection and restoration type area of the study area as a unit.
