Aiming at a problem of the difficulty in selecting ilmenite in olivine-gabbro vanadium-titanium magnetite,this paper systematically studied the difference in floatability and surface properties of ilmenite,chlorite and mixed gangue minerals under different conditions;the action mechanisms between flotation reagent and minerals;the beneficiation process of the actual ore of the olivine-gabbro vanadium-titanium magnetite.The main conclusions are as follows:?1?There were a large amount of titanium and iron sites on the surface of ilmenite,and the surface of mixed gangue and chlorite aggregates contains a large amount of iron and magnesium sites.In deionized water,the points of zero charge of ilmenite and chlorite aggregates were 5.9 and 4.8,respectively;the zeta potential of the mixed gangue is always negative.?2?The selectivity of sodium oleate to ilmenite was good.The key to improving the flotation effect of ilmenite was the inhibition of magnesia silicate gangue that rich in iron sites on the surface.In an acidic environment,sodium oleate primarily reacted with iron sites on the mineral surface.Similarly,under alkaline conditions,sodium oleate primarily interacted with the magnesium and iron sites on the mineral surface and adsorbed on the mineral surface.?3?Titanangite and chlorite aggregates were the main gangue that affect the flotation of olivine-gabbro ilmenite.In the sodium oleate flotation system,using CMC as the inhibitor was advantageous for flotation separation of olivine-gabbro ilmenite.CMC had a weak inhibitory effect on ilmenite in an acidic environment and it was high inhibitive to mixed gangue and chlorite aggregates.?4?The results of the artificial mixed minerals flotation tests showed that using NS?NaOL:SLS=4:1?as the collector and CMC as an inhibitor to carry out flotation under weakly acidic conditions,the flotation concentrate index was obtained:the TiO2 grade was 29.60%,the recovery rate was 61.58%,and the flotation index was significantly better than other test conditions.?5?The mineralogy analysis and mineral separation test of olivine-type vanadium-titanium magnetite actual ore with TiO2 content of 8.42%and TFe content of 22.54%were carried out.The size of the ilmenite and magnetite inlaid in the ore was fine,and the main gangue minerals that affecting the flotation of ilmenite were the chlorite aggregates and titanaugite.The ore was subjected to dry magnetic separation and two-stage grinding-magnetic selection and magnetic separation column selection process,and the iron concentrate had a TFe grade of 55.62%and a recovery rate of 50.12%.In iron concentrates,there were a small amount of ilmenite and chlorite in addition to magnetite.After the iron ore tailings were enriched in ilmenite by strong magnetic,the grade of TiO2 is 18.89%,and it was carried into“one roughing,two scavenging and four cleanings”flotation process using MS as the collector and CMC as the depressant,the titanium concentrate with the TiO2 grade of 46.10%and the recovery rate of 56.35%could be obtained.The product quality inspections indicate that a small amount of titanaugite and chlorite entered the foam product during the flotation process.?6?The mixed gangue minerals separation from the olivine-gabbro gangue minerals in the Hongge were highly representative.The theoretical study of the mixed gangue and ilmenite single mineral as a research object can be used as a reference for the actual ore dressing production of olivine-gabbro ilmenite.In the process of actual ore dressing test of the olivine-type ilmenite,there was still sliming phenomenon,and there were a small amount of gangue minerals in the flotation product.In the future,the research focus on olivine ilmenite should be to reduce the ore sliming phenomenon and strengthen the inhibition of magnesia silicate gangue minerals rich in iron sites on the surface.
