Research On Longquan Porcelain Industry During The Late Qing Dynasty And The Republic Of China

Longquan kiln is the most reresentative southern celadon kiln in the history of porcelain making in China.After the prosperous development during the Song and Yuan Dynasties,it began to head to a recession in the late Ming Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty.The period of the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China is a key link between the past and the future for Longquan porcelain.However,there are few records and researches on Longquan porcelain industry in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China,resulting in the blurring of this history.In this study,archaeological investigation,interview investigation,evidence collection and literature research were used to study and sort out the Longquan porcelain industry in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China.During the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China,Sunkeng Kiln continued the kiln fire of Longquan Kiln,but its product style was different from the jade-like thick glaze decoration in the Song and Yuan dynasties and the Republic of China.From the analysis of the inheritance of the technical system,there must be the infiltration of foreign technology.The "official" name appeared in the Longquan porcelain industry in the Republic of China.The establishment of Zhejiang Porcelain Improvement Workshop and Porcelain Cooperative innovated the technology and sales model of Longquan porcelain and led to the emergence of the prototype of collective production and marketing.In addition to white porcelain products,the development of Longquan traditional celadon in this period was in a stage of small-scale exploration,and its development and expansion benefited from the persistent efforts by a group of men of insight on revitalizing Longquan porcelain.This has become the key link between the past and the future in the development process of Longqua celadon and promoted the rapid recovery of Longquan celadon toward the center after the founding of the People's Republic of China.Finally,the concept of Longquan kiln in broad sense was put forward.Among the Longquan white porcelain products during the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China,the fired wares are blue in color,and there is the phenomenon of gracked glaze.The firing technology and product style are in line with the traditional Longquan kiln,which should belong to the category of "Longquan Kiln".
