The traditional mechanical method has many serious problems when machining difficult materials,the tool cutting temperature rises and the tool wears seriously,which reduces the tools life and processing efficiency,so it is more difficult to processing trepanning.Therefore,it is necessary to need a new processing method,Short arc machining technology is a non-traditional processing method,which is suitable for processing difficult-to-machine materials with special hard,super strong and high toughness.Therefore,the combination of short electric arc processing technology and trepanning machining can provide a new idea for trepanning processing.In this paper,the information about special processing technology is inquired for the research of this subject,and the mechanism of short electric arc machining is analyzed and studied with the help of the theory of arc formation.This paper mainly designs the electrode structure and performs the thermal analysis of the toothed electrode.The electrodes of different structures are selected to do the test of the short electric arc trepanning processing,the test found that the toothed electrode has the best processing effect.The toothed electrode is used to do the machining parameters test of titanium alloy TC4 and Ni-base high-temperature alloy In625,the test results show that when the discharge voltage and the feed increase and the discharge gap decreases,the removal rate of the workpiece material increases.Under the same parameters,the removal rate of titanium alloy TC4 is higher than that of Ni-base high-temperature alloy In625.By detecting and analyzing the metallographic structure of the Ni-base high-temperature alloy In625 and stainless steel(0Cr17Ni4Cu4Nb)after short electric arc machining,we can draw a conclusion that the matrix structure of the material is basically stable,and the thickness of the heat-affected zone is small,which would have little impact on the subsequent mechanical processing and trepanning machining.it is determined that the matrix structure of the material is basically stable,the thickness of the heat affected zone is small,and the subsequent semi-fine Processing and finishing do not have a large impact.Therefore,it is feasible to combine the short electric arc processing and trepanning machining for difficult-to-machine materials.
