In recent years, due to the continuous warming of the global climate, there has been a short ice-free period in the Arctic in summer, which provides the possibility for the navigation of ships. The navigation of Arctic routes will bring great development advantages and economic potential to countries and regions along the route, but because of the high risk of navigation in ice areas,Arctic routes also put forward higher requirements for many elements of operating ships. Therefore,it is unclear whether Arctic routes have better economic advantages than traditional routes. In addition,International Maritime Organization have been takena series of measures to control and limit ship emissions in recent years. In order to better develop and utilize the Arctic,we should plan ahead of time in the application and development of Arctic routes, and consider how to deal with the upcoming sulfur limitation regulations for ships. In order to analyze the economy of Arctic routes under the emission reduction policy, this paper first summarizes the current situation of Arctic route navigation, route economy, ship emission reduction and other related research status.Secondly, through the study of the natural environment and ice conditions of the Arctic region,as well as the actual ship navigation data in the Arctic region in recent years, the future development trend of Arctic routes is analyzed. Then,on the basis of studying and analyzing the relevant provisions of polar ship navigation, the laws and regulations on ship emission reduction and the specific provisions on ship emission reduction, three mainstream ship emission reduction schemes(MGO,exhaust gas cleaning device,LNG fuel)are analyzed and compared. Finally,on the premise of considering the regulation of ship sulfide emission reduction,by analyzing the economic cost elements of each navigation in the process of ship operation, the economic comparison model is established, and the northeast Arctic route and the traditional Suez Canal route are taken as examples. The operation economy of different ships on the two routes is verified and analyzed, and good research results are obtained. The main work of this paper is as follows:(1)Based on the analysis of ship sulfide emission reduction schemes, the advantages and disadvantages of three mainstream ship emission reduction schemes are compared, and the economic comparison model of emission reduction schemes is established, which can be used to analyze the economy of three mainstream ship emission reduction schemes;(2)Based on the analysis and consideration of the economic cost elements of navigation inthe course of ship operation, the economic analysis model of routes is established, which makes a better comparative analysis of the economy of different routes between Asia and Europe.(3)Through the design of navigation cases of Arctic routes and traditional routes, the economic analysis model of emission reduction scheme and the economic analysis model of routes are applied to analyze and draw relevant conclusions.Based on the analysis of the policy provisions of ship sulfide emission reduction and the cost factors of navigation economy in the course of ship operation, this paper establishes the relevant economic comparison model, and takes the northeast Arctic route and Suez Canal route as examples. The verification and analysis are carried out and the relevant conclusions are drawn. The research has certain practical application value and can provide a certain reference for the Arctic route operation decision of shipping enterprises.
