With the rapid development of China's economy and the improvement of people's living standards,environmental protection and environmental regulations are receiving increasing attention.The automobile industry seems to be the pillar of the economic development of China,on the other hand,it is one of the major factors affecting the environment,more importantly it is one of the industries that are greatly regulated by environmental laws.Due to the typical pollution of the automotive industry,its green technology innovation is closely related to the development of China's automobile industry and the improvement of people's quality of life.Therefore,this paper selects the impacts of environmental regulations on the green technology innovation of China's auto industry as a research perspective,and demonstrates whether environmental regulation will have a negative impact on economic development due to the pressure brought to the auto industry,or it may realize green technology innovation and a win-win situation for economic growth,with a view to contributing to enriching relevant research in this field.Firstly,based on the summary and reflection of the relevant research results of worldwide scholars,this paper discusses the transmission mechanism of environmental regulation on the green technology innovation of the automotive industry from the perspective of cost and premium ability,then further utilizes the method of measurement analysis.The empirical analysis of the impact of environmental regulation on the green technology innovation of the automotive industry which is through the construction of the automotive industry production and use of two test models and regression analysis,concluded that:(1)environmental regulation can be from the production link and the use of two Promote green technology innovation in the automotive industry;(2)The investment of automobile companies in the direction of collecting premiums and obtaining excess profits will weaken the promotion of environmental regulation to corporate green technology innovation.Finally,on the basis of the status quo analysis and empirical test,this paper proposes policy recommendations to further improve China's environmental regulation policies and promote green technology innovation in the automotive industry.Compared with previous studies,this paper could be mainly innovative in the following two aspects: First,the research dimension is more comprehensive.Previous literatures have been studied from the green technology innovation of the automobile industry's production links,while neglecting the use of automobiles.An empirical study of green technology innovation.This paper believes that the pollution of the use of the link is the obvious difference between the automotive industry and other polluting industries.Therefore,in order to reflect the characteristics of the automotive industry,and for the comprehensiveness of research,this paper increases the analysis of green technology innovation in the automotive use.Second,the research perspective is more in-depth.In the past,most of the literatures have demonstrated the “traditional hypothesis” and “porter hypothesis” from the perspective of cost.However,this paper believes that the ability to collect premiums is also the main factor that enterprises consider when making decisions on environmental regulation.In order to deeply explore the decision-making behavior of enterprises in the face of environmental regulation,this paper discusses the role of cost factors in the transmission,and increases the analysis of the role of the ability to collect premiums in the transmission mechanism.
