Since ancient times,water and fire have been incompatible.In this paper,a hydrophobic and flame-retardant material was composited by a simple preparation method,with the aim of preparing the silicone?PDMS?and epoxy resin?EP?superhydrophobic flame retardant composites with an excellent mechanically stable property.At the same time,the application of the composite materials in self-cleaning,oil-water separation,anti-corrosion and other aspects was studied.The main research contents are as follows:1.Here this work reports a simple non-fluorinated coating:Incorporating of ammonium polyphosphate and pentaerythritol flame retardant to silica nanoparticles-PDMS composite,to obtain the superhydrophobic flame-retardant coating,which can endow the fabric flame-retardant and superhydrophobic properties.Results shows that the coated fabric material is hardly burned in air,which is also wetted by water,coffee,milk etc.And the coating is durable and resists mechanical abrasion,which has a long life-time exposure to corrosive liquids and UV radiation.Through the further investigation,it was found that the coated fabric materials have good oil/organic solvent and water separating functions,which could reduce the fire resistance.The developed formulations can be used for garment and paper industries to lower the fire risks and resist water stains.2.Here this work presents a very simple method to fabricate a magnetic porous silicone that exhibits excellent absorbency,fast magnetic responsiveness,high compressibility,stretchability and high chemical stability.The porous silicone instantly adsorbs any oil floating on water in a complex environment under magnetic field driving,which can also separate the oil/water mixture automatically and quickly at high efficiency using an external pump.The oil absorption capacity and mechanical properties,such as compressibility and stretchability,were robust even under corrosive liquids,UV exposure or organic solvents.In addition,the porous silicone inherits the flame-retardant properties of zinc ferrite?ZFO?and reduces the risk of fire and explosion.Thus,the robust reusable magnetic porous silicone is a promising candidate for large-scale industrial separation of organic solvents/water mixture in harsh conditions.3.Therefore,this work has prepared a CoFe2O4/EP with superhydrophobic and fire resistance properties with the modification of silane coupling agent.The modified CoFe2O4nanofiller is able to reduce the peak heat release rate,peak smoke production release and CO production of EP-matrix nanocomposite by 39.6%,41.6%,and 61.3%,respectively.In addition,after knife-scratch and even 300 abrasion cycles test,water droplets could be completely removed which could not wet the surface of prepared materials.The as-prepared superhydrophobic materials have a good chemical stability,such as,UV resistance,corrosive liquids resistance etc.Moreover,the superhydrophobic CoFe2O4/EP have a good self-cleaning that functions even upon emersion in oil.The flame retardant superhydrophobic materials we prepare will exhibit great potentials in practical applications.
