Design Of Wetland Ecological Tourism Recreation Facilities In Longwanghu Area Of West Dongting Lake

The wetland ecosystem of Dongting Lake in China is the second largest freshwater lake in China,which is of important ecological significance in China and even in the world.The West Dongting Lake is the Western throat of the wetland ecosystem of Dongting Lake in China.It is of great importance to the regulation of the Yangtze River ecosystem.In addition,the ecological service function of the West Dongting Lake also plays an important role in the social and economic development of the lake area.However,driven by economic interests,the local residents over-exploited the West Dongting Lake,resulting in the ecological environment of the West Dongting Lake facing a huge threat.The project of "Conservation and Sustainable Utilization of Biodiversity in Dongting Lake Area of China" was implemented by the Global Environment Facility(GEF)in conjunction with Hunan Forestry Department.As one of the sub-projects of eco-tourism,the design establishes a win-win protection model of eco-tourism and bird habitats in the West Dongting Lake Reserve by establishing an eco-tourism demonstration area.In view of this,the design first clarifies the design backg.round and key issues in the design,and then reviews and analyzes the relevant theoretical research and construction practice of wetland ecotourism,wetland ecotourism planning and recreation facilities at home and abroad,and finally summarizes the development status of these issues.The concepts of ecology,ecotourism,wetland and recreational facilities are analyzed,and the definition,classification and functional characteristics of recreational facilities were clarified in the paper.The basic theories of landscape ecology,ecological corridor and sustainable development involved in the design of wetland ecotourism recreation facilities are expounded.By combing the current situation of the construction of West Dongting Lake and analyzing the results of on-site questionnaires,the present situation of the development of ecotourism in West Dongting Lake and the willingness of community residents in developing and participating in ecotourism are obtained.Through the analysis of the bird hotspot area of West Dongting Lake,the development of ecotourism in West Dongting Lake and the overall planning of the protection area,Longwang Lake area is selected as the project site of this design.On-site investigation was carried out,and recreational space,current plants and current facilities were analyzed.Four excellent cases at home and abroad are selected for reference so as to summarize the design concept and characteristics of recreational facilities.Based on field investigation and questionnaire analysis,the problems of wetland ecotourism recreation facilities in Longwang Lake area of West Dongting Lake are summarized as follows:lack of recreational facilities;lack of coherence of transportation facilities;large number of migratory birds but lack of corresponding bird watching facilities;large seasonal variation of water level,but low accessibility of sites;rich wetland landscape but lack of associations.In view of the above problems,the corresponding design strategies are put forward.On the premise of ecological design,recreational facilities are designed and constructed;tourist gathering and distributing areas are set up in flat terrain areas;traffic organization is strengthened to connect various points of space;bird-watching houses and corridors are set up in migratory bird concentrated areas;overhead trestles and wetland walkways are designed to form double-deck traffic flow lines.Finally,based on the design strategy,the overall design and zoning design of the project are put forward,and the monolithic design of wetland bird-watching trestle,walking path,pontoon,bird-watching house,bird-watching corridors,viewing platform and marking facilities is about to be completed.
