In order to prevent the occurrence of the sucrose dust explosion accidents and control the consequences of the explosion, sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate are used as inert medium and mixed with sugar dust in advance in this study, and then 1.2 L hartmann tube,Godbert-Greenwald heating furnace and Siwek 20L spherical explosion test device are used to study the effect on parameters contained ignition sensitivity and explosion severity of sucrose dust under inerting conditions, and suppression mechanisms of sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate are compared in terms of physical function and chemical mechanism in sucrose dust explosion. The rcsearch results prove that:(1)The parameter value of igition sensitivity can be effectively improved by increasing the proportion of inert dust in mixtures. When the mass fraction of sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate is 39.0%and 22.0%respectively,the minimum ignition energy of mixtures is 1000mJ,and sucrose dust is completely inerted. The total inerting demand of sucrose dust increases first and then decreases with the increase of sucrose dust concentration. When the concentration of sucrose dust is 417g/m3,it is the most sensitive concentration for combustion, and sucrose dust at this concentration is the most difficult to be completely inerted.(2)The flame retardant effect decreases with the increase of particle size, which is the best when the particle size of inert dust is 37~47μm.The demand for total inerting of sucrose dust increases with the increase of inert particle size. The total inerting requirement for sodium chloride particles larger than 75μm is as high as 71.5%(3)The parameter value of explosion sensitivity can be significantly reduced by increasing the proportion of inert dust in mixtures. In the range of concentration of sucrose dust from 350g/m to 1000g/3,the minimum inerting concentration of 10.4I1%when 48~75μm sodium bicarbonate is used as the inert medium. The Kst of sucrose dust in 20L is 14.92MPa·m/s when the mass fraction of sodium bicarbonate is 1%,which means that the explosive risk of sucrose dust has been significantly reduced.(4)The inhibitory effects of sodium chloride are physical means including heat insulation, shielding and dilution of combustible dust concentration;Sodium bicarbonate has a special free radical binding reaction, and its inhibitory effect is better than that of sodium chloride to some extent under the synergistic effect of physics and chemistry. The data and conclusions obtained in this paper can provide a more systematic basis for the safety design of dust explosion accident prevention and control measures in the sucrose production process, which is of great significance for the safety production in the sucrose industry.
