With the rapid development of China's passenger transport,shipbuilding,equipment manufacturing,aerospace and other industrial fields,the demand for bearings is gradually increasing.As the most important component of the bearing,the bearing ring directly determines the performance and life of the bearing.At present,hot rolling technology is mostly used in the production of bearing rings,defects often occur in the forging process of bearing rings,burr and folding defects are always the most common problems in the forging production of bearing rings.These defects will increase the difficulty of machining,serious or even damage to machining equipment.Therefore,it is of great significance to explore the factors affecting the folding and burr defects of bearing rings by changing rolling process parameters and blank size and shape.The research content of this paper is the rolling forming project of conical section ring in a forging factory.Based on the rolling equipment and process flow,the thermalmechanical coupling model of radial semi-open rolling of conical ring is established on MSC.Marc.The rolling process was simulated and Mises stress,equivalent strain and temperature distribution were analyzed.The causes of burrs and folding defects and their distribution and deformation rules were studied.The research reveals that increasing the feed speed of driving roll can effectively restrain burr and folding defects,changing the speed of driving roll has less influence on burr defects,and reducing ring rolling ratio can also restrain burr and folding defects.By changing the size and shape of the ring,it is confirmed that the burr defect of the ring forging can be restrained by preset chamfer pair at the inner diameter edge of the inner cone ring section.Reasonable design of the outer surface shape of the outer conical ring can restrain the folding defect of the outer surface of the ring forging.
