Consuming a lot of fossil energy and polluting the environment,automobile has become one of the main causes of the growing energy crisis and environmental pollution.The developing of new energy vehicle becomes a very promising direction and the hydrogen fuel vehicles has become a hot research field.As people's requirement of environmental quality increases and the photovoltaic power generation costs are rapidly declining,the photovoltaic power generation is becoming more and more popular.In China,research on PV hydrogen refueling station systems has become very meaningful.At present,there are few studies on this topic for China.There is a lack of domestic estimates of the cost of the related equipment.This will adversely affect its more in-depth research and development.In this work,the conceptual design of the hydrogen station is carried out and its cost is analyzed based on the background of domestic cities.This paper selects five representative cities with different situations to reflect the overall situation of the domestic cities.Tianjin is one of the major cities in the northern China,and Tianjin has a great demand for energy.Tianjin is located in the area of general solar energy development potential.Hangzhou is one of the major cities in the southern China,and Hangzhou has a great demand for energy.Hangzhou is located in the area of relatively poor solar energy development potential.In China,most part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is located in the area of extremely rich or rich solar energy development potential.Xigaze City is located in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,and in the area of rich solar energy development potential.Xining City is one of the major cities in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,and Xining City has a great demand for energy.Xining City is located in the area of richer solar energy development potential.Chongqing also has great demand for energy,while the southwestern region is an area with insufficient solar energy resources.Chongqing,located in the Southwest China,is located in the area of poor solar energy development potential.Tianjin,Hangzhou,Xigaze,Xining and Chongqing have certain representative significance in China.Setting the five cities above as background,this paper studied the cost of the hydrogen refueling station combining water electrolyser powered by the photovoltaic power.The cost analysis of the system provides cost data for the development of the hydrogen refueling station.Since the photovoltaic power generation is intermittent,it has instability and can not work as a stable power source.By combining it to the grid,the problem of instability of photovoltaic power generation can be solved.Thereby,the stability of the power supply is improved and the stability of the hydrogen refueling station is enchanced.Hydrogen production by water electrolysis is a relatively mature method of hydrogen production.Electrolyzer splits water to produce hydrogen.Subsequently,the hydrogen is stored and finally the hydrogen is consumed.The hydrogen production rate of the hydrogen refueling station is 27 kg/day.The levelized cost of energy is regarded as the photovoltaic power generation cost.The grid electricity price is regarded as the grid power supply cost.The costs of equipment such as electrolyzer,compressor,and storage vessels are estimated according to the literature.The costs of investment,maintenance and etc.were resonably estimated.The land rent,staff wages and other expenses were estimated based on the recent actual conditions of the five cities.In the context of Tianjin,Hangzhou,Xining,Xigaze,and Chongqing,the hydrogen production costs of the grid-connected photovoltaic power generation system water electrolysis hydrogen refueling station were estimated to be 72.85 RMB Yuan/kg,84 RMB Yuan/kg,and 66.55 RMB Yuan/kg,74.36 RMB Yuan/kg,78.14 RMB Yuan/kg,respectively.Finally,the cost constitution analysis and cost comparison were carried out.The results show that the hydrogen production cost of the water electrolysis hydrogen refueling station powered by the grid-connected photovoltaic power generation system is close to the hydrogen production cost of the water electrolysis hydrogen refueling station powered by the traditional grid.It is worth noting that the cost of photovoltaic power generation is currently declining,and the cost of the entire production process may continue to decline in the near future.Therefore,the hydrogen refueling station the competitiveness of the hydrogen refueling process discussed in this paper is expected to be further enhanced in the domestic market in the future.
