A large amount of radioactive waste of production was produced by a plant as a large-scale nuclear industry enterprise in northwest China.A great deal of intermediate level liquid waste(ILLW)will be produced during the construction and operation of the first spent fuel reprocessing pilot plant test in China.These waste liquids will also be stored in the tank of ILLW.It needs not only a large number of stainless steel storage tanks but also has a potential nuclear safety risky of corrosion leakage for long-term store of ILLW.And,there are great impacts on the safe operation of nuclear facilities.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to carry out the engineering test and application of cement solidification of ILLW bulk grouting for the safe treatment and disposal of ILLW by liquid-to-solid process.Based on extensive reference to the literature,the cement solidification engineering for cement bulk grouting of waste liquid in the plant was researched,the application analysis and verification of cement solidification method for mass pouring was carried out in combined with engineering case.According to the construction and historical operation of ILLW storage facilities in the plant,the safety analysis was carried out for the cement solidification site of the cement bulk grouting of ILLW.The results indicated that the site had safe disposal conditions.The development and optimization of the cement grouting formula and the cold test were carried out.The optimized formula was obtained.The cause of the rapid rise of temperature in cement solidified body was found by repeated cold and hot tests.And the problem was solved by changing the formula ratio and adding the coal ash.It reached the setting parameter index after adjusted formula.The combined test data of curing index,radiation monitoring and accident consequence are emphasized in cement grouting method and engineering application.The results showed that the key engineering technical parameters such as specific activity,compressive strength,nuclides leaching rate,radiation and environmental safety of the solidified body met the standard requirements,and the disposal problem of the mud with higher alpha radioactivity level had been solved at the same time.The effective dose under the accident condition was far lower than the management target value through the analysis of the four main accident consequences such as solidified body immersion,cover erosion exposure,personnel accidental entry and pouring yard residence.Finally,it was concluded that the engineering application of ILLW cement bulk grouting was safe and reliable.Suggestions for future cement grouting projects are proposed based on the research results.The research results have important promotion and application value for solidified with cement bulk grouting.
