With the development of modern industry,especially the rapid development of the aerospace field,the manufacture of new generation rocket bodies and new aircraft components demands higher precision of five-axis CNC machine tools.5-axis CNC machine tools are the most important equipment for thin-walled structural parts in the aerospace industry.However,geometric errors are unavoidable during the manufacturing and assembly process of the machine tool.Moreover,the wear and micro-deformation of the machine tool will cause geometric error with the use of the machine tool.Both factors will affect the machining accuracy of the machine tool.Based on the screw theory and product of exponentials(POE)and aiming to improve the machining accuracy of the 5-axis CNC machine tool,this paper establishes a geometric error calibration and compensation model for the machine tool.Taking advantage of high-precision laser tracker as the measurement method,the paper designs point measurement and pose measurement to calibrate the actual twist coordinate of each axis of the machine tool.Later the position error and the tool orientation error are evaluated using the calibrated twist coordinates.The geometric error compensation algorithm based on the differential kinematics of the machine tool is established to compensate the position error and tool orientation error,which improves the precision of machine tool.The non-orthogonal machine tool geometric error calibration model based on the common perpendicular line is established,which aims to improve the geometric accuracy of the non-orthogonal machine tool.A geometric error calibration and compensation model for dual 5-axis mirror milling machine tool is established to calibrate and compensate the relative axis orientation error and relative position error of the dual five-axis mirror milling machine tool,which aims to improve the machining accuracy of the dual 5-axis machine tool.The design and development of geometric error calibration and compensation software for 5-axis CNC machine tools lays the foundation for the geometric error self-calibration and compensation of the machine tool.
