Magnetic separation is an important link of iron ore separation process,the process is refers to the permeability of different mineral particle group through the same magnetic field,high permeability of minerals adsorb on the surface of the magnetic roller,and with the magnetic roller rotation,when the reach the separation chamber discharge,due to the material particles is greater than the centrifugal force of gravity,magnetic particles was thrown separation chamber into the concentration pool,low permeability of minerals as tailings discharge.SOLIDWORKS,a 3d modeling software,is used to make a solid model of the sorting chamber part of the magnetic separator,and simplified the model of the part that does not affect the sorting,so as to make preparations for subsequent simulation analysis.FLUENT16.0On the basis of summarizing the characteristics of iron ore resources and mineral processing equipment in Inner Mongolia,the research group put forward a dry iron powder processing system,in which a new type of high gradient three-stage dry magnetic separator with air inlet system is the core equipment.In order to further improve the separation efficiency of the new type of magnetic separator,this study carried out structural improvement design of the magnetic separator's air inlet system,and studied the separation efficiency of the new type of magnetic separator and the relationship between its influencing factors through numerical simulation.The main research methods and conclusions are as follows:(1)three-dimensional solid modeling is conducted with the three-dimensional modeling software SOLIDWORKS for the sorting cavity of the new magnetic separator,providing a solid model for the establishment of flow channel structure in the simulation study.(2)using the computational fluid dynamics simulation software FLUENT16.0 to new type of dry type magnetic separator separation chamber of air-solid two-phase flow field in the three dimensional numerical simulation of the air-solid two phase flow material particle velocity field,the concentration of the material particles and the influence law of separation between the cavity of the ventilation rate,ventilation rate,the greater the concentration of particles,the smaller the material that the higher the degree of loose particles.In addition,air flow also affects the speed of material particles,that is,the air flow is too large material particles are directly blown out of the sorting chamber,the air flow is too small material particles stay in the diversion plate back bend,both cases make the separation invalid,therefore,air flow is one of the key factors affecting the separation efficiency.It is an important way to improve the separation efficiency of magnetic separator to find the quantitative influence rule between the ventilation rate and the velocity and concentration of material particles.(3)Through the simulation of the gas-solid two-phase flow field in the wind-selected cavity of two different structures of the traditional magnetic separator and the new magnetic separator with air inlet system,the results of the two are compared and found:After the system,the concentration of material particles in the sorting chamber is significantly reduced.By changing the angle and height of the air inlet,the simulation shows that the angle of the air inlet is unfavorable for improving the sorting efficiency,and the height of the air inlet is affecting the sorting efficiency.As an important indicator,it is one of the key ways to improve the sorting efficiency of the magnetic separator,so that the optimum air inlet height can be found to make the looseness of the material particles reach the optimal state and ensure that the magnetic particles are in full contact with the magnetic separator roller.Through further simulation analysis,the optimum speed range of material particles is 4.871?5.482m/s,and the optimal height of air inlet is 40mm.(4)Based on the determination of the optimum height and angle of the air inlet,the discrete element software EDEM2.7 is used to simulate the material sorting process,and the relationship between the wind speed of the inlet system and the sorting efficiency of the magnetic separator is studied.Through simulation analysis,the conclusion is as follows:when the height of the air inlet is 40 mm and the wind speed of the air inlet is 4 m/s3 the sorting efficiency is the highest,and the grade of the obtained iron fine powder is 72%.
