In modern mould manufacturing enterprises,the application of EDM technology has gradually become the mainstream.The processing effect can be effectively guaranteed by reasonable selection of process parameters;reasonable estimation of EDM time can effectively ensure the enterprise to arrange the production plan,and can significantly improve the efficiency of mold manufacturing.Based on the actual demand of the enterprise,this paper designed and developed the automatic programming system and machining simulation system of Makino EDM machine tool.The main research contents are as follows:First.Analysed of numerical control program composition and process parameter selection principle of Makino EDM machine tool in detail,the design and development of Makino automatic programming system were carried out based on.NET platform,and the design of process parameter database was carried out based on SQLite.Second.According to the electrode material and workpiece material used in enterprise,combined with common discharging gap and process parameters in enterprise,processining speed tests of EDM were carried out to obtain the processing speed of EDM under some processing conditions.Third.On the basis of the processing speed of EDM,the design of the processing speed parameter library was carried out,and the development of machining simulation system was designed at the same time.It mainly realizes the functions of process simulation and processing time estimation.Fourth.The using of the automatic programming system and machining simulation system was reflected in two aspects.On the one hand,the NC program generated by the automatic programming system was checked,on the other hand,the processing time predicted by the processing simulation system was verified and analyzed.
